Editorial Reviews

"Made and Bottled in Kentucky" is a one-hour documentary about Kentucky bourbon whiskey. It uncorks the drink’s rich history from its 18th century origins right up to today. You will see how bourbon is made and tour many of Kentucky’s distilleries, current and past, including several picturesque ruins.

"Made and Bottled in Kentucky" shows how the whiskey industry in Kentucky evolved over two centuries as it introduces you to the communities, families and individuals behind the Mid-South's unique "Red Likker." Their story is rich in lore and tradition, as their ancient craft has been little changed by modern technology.

"Made and Bottled in Kentucky" features interviews with historians, bourbon distillers and other industry leaders.

Produced in 1992 to celebrate the bicentennial of Kentucky statehood, "Made and Bottled in Kentucky" was funded by grants from Kentucky Educational Television (KET) and the Kentucky Distillers Association (KDA). Originally broadcast in Kentucky by KET, it was distributed nationally by the Southern Educational Television Association (SETA), and aired on most public television stations in the U.S.

The DVD transfer was made in 2003 from one of the original Beta SP masters.
