Zhulian,
By Lost Johnny (China) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Made in China (Audio CD)
This was Martin Atkin's last really interesting project, although I've heard rumours of something else coming up. There are some highlights like the Tibetans singing away with a "Dirty Girl" coming out with some authentic foul language in pretty voice (I have an uncomfortable feeling she's cursing the Tibetans!). The people Martin in China thought that he wanted punk, so that's what he got mainly. He's mixed together some interesting bits and pieces like the message in a Bejing taxi and stuff rom a radio channel in a creative way. I'd give it 5 stars but he recycled the material too much for that (something he does rather a lot!). Very original take on China and was, in effect, Pigface's last good album.
