These original Chinese clay pots are so affordable that some restaurants include them in take-out orders and throw them out instead of washing them after serving them at the table to customers. However, the last time, I received such a take-out order, I noticed that the interior was NOT glazed so beware of lazy counterfeits of this Chinese original. I know many Chinese households that have only had one clay pot for decades and this is only possible if you don't crack the pot with too high heat. Just as with the Staub and Le Creuset versions, the Chinese clay pot is not supposed to be used over high heat. These pots are lighter weight so if you want to make a rice casserole like stone pot bibimbap, you can definitely go with the Chinese original cookware over the heavier but much more durable iron versions and still achieve the toasted not burnt rice on the bottom. I know some people who insist on using this pot otherwise clay pot casserole recipes just wouldn't taste right.

This is a very good quality sturdy claypot. So far the dishes I've tried making have come out really well.
