I love Lysa's books. She speaks straight from the heart, is honest, and I can so relate to the examples she shares from her own life. I highly recommend any of her books and study guides. I lead a small group bible study and we're using one of her books (Unglued). Our first one was "Becoming More Than A Good Bible Study Girl". Her participants guide for her books and the DVD's are so life changing because they're packed with God's Worss and how it is practical for our everyday life. I bought "Made to Crave" for personal use but it may be book #3 for our next study
I started out on this review hoping it would cause a change in my eating. My cravings have done a complete 180 since starting and finishing. I LOVED this study. It showed me what was beneficial, what my faults were, what my triggers were, and it was all Biblically centered. It really brings you back to GOD first. The other thing I love about this study is that I no longer feel guilty if I do enjoy a food that is not beneficial to me. THE GUILT IS GONE!!!
If you are going to use Lysa's DVDs with the Made to Crave Bible Study then this is a great tool to have as a "listener's guide" and discussion guide. Or you can buy one copy for the leader of the group, so the leader can use it as a discussion guide after viewing the DVD. (Better for each person to have their own copy.)
I/we thought this study had some eye opening moments ~ if you are struggling with food, or the way you eat your food ~ Lysa will help you to take a closer look ~ GOD above all, anything at all, and that means the foods we consume and why as well as when. Eye opening study! Good points to ponder.
This study guide is helpful to go deeper into the subject and think through it personally. I also like the DVD. Lysa Terkeurst is a fantastic author and helps apply God's word to everyday situations, I also recommend her book Unglued.
The Made To Crave book is an insight to how we can focus our craving toward the Lord rather than ourselves. I found the book enlightening and thought provoking. Will keep referring to it as I continue my journey.
