As a single person, I began reading "Made to Be Loved" with great hesitation. Throughout my reading, I appreciated the Bell's vulnerability and felt that I wasn't alone in my struggle to develop closer and deeper relationships. Even though the main focus is the marriage relationship, I would highly recommend the book to anyone who is committed to building true intimacy into relationships that matter to them. The time investment will be well worth it!

As a Pastor,this book is so good I give a copy to every copy to every couple whose wedding ceremony I am going to perform as a part of their pre-marital counseling!!!

My fiancee and I turned to Steve and Valerie's book while we were still dating -- trying to figure out how two committed Christ-followers truly integrate our spiritual lives. While this book is unapologetically targeted toward married Christian couples, I quickly found this book painting a picture of the practical, spiritually-healthy marraige we all long to enjoy.

The book describes seven "Spiritual Intimacy Exercises" that are both practical and worth the cost of the book. They are:
1. Listening to the Voice That Says 'You Were Made to Be Loved'.
2. Becoming a Life-Giver.
3. Smoothing the Rub.
4. Practicing Visible Signs of God's Grace.
5. Ways to Welcome God into Your Marraige.
6. Five Words of Honor.
7. Developing a Taste for the Classics

This book took my fiancee and I way beyond the typical "devotions and prayer together" prescription offered for a spiritually-connected marraige and offered spiritual exercises that truly helped us sense God in each other.
