4.0 out of 5 stars different direction
This mix finds Oscar G going in quite a different direction than Live at Space, switching from house with progressive leanings to house with a strong electro influence. He doesn't use high bpm, popular vocals, or flashy tricks to move you, just an insistent groove that doesn't let up until it seeps into you.

2.0 out of 5 stars Dissapointed by one of my favorite Dj's...
Ok, to be honest Oscar G. is one of favoite dj's. I was their for the grand opening party for Made in Miami Sunday's @ Manision and it was absolutley insane. I have all of his mixed CD's including one of my all time favorites Oscar G. Live @ Space. But, This CD does not come close in comparison to hearing him live. 5.0 out of 5 stars Deep and hard!!, February 12, 2006

Hello and Thanks-
I have to say that it's been some time since he term "Murk" has entered into my vocabulary - "you've got me fired up-- you've got me so!!
But I have to say that Oscar G has matured!!
I liked this CD (#2) very much because of the overall deep (not main stream!!) feel and the fact that the music really is kick ass.
I feel like I've been transported to Amsterdam or Greece!
I can easily score this Mix compilation as a some of the darkest hard house/trance music I'v ever heard.;
Recommended- if you like to listen to music with headphones and transport yourself to a different mind set- listen to this-

Have fun. Peace-

dave

Ok, to be honest Oscar G. is one of favoite dj's. I was their for the grand opening party for Made in Miami Sunday's @ Manision and it was absolutley insane. I have all of his mixed CD's including one of my all time favorites Oscar G. Live @ Space. But, This CD does not come close in comparison to hearing him live. Both CD's have a slow electro feel that tend to go nowhere. Leaving me feeling anxious for something more. I listened to this CD a number of times hoping it would grow on me, but it never did. Please do not judge Oscar G. as a Dj based off of this mixed CD. He is a great DJ and a very talented artist. This just happens to be a very bad release. My suggestion is that if you don't own Oscar G. Live @ Space already, then definitley go out and get it. The CD is filled with bangin tribal and each song is worked incredibly. I hope this helps.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sexy, August 22, 2009

Born and bred in Miami, Oscar G. has made a standout name for himself as one of the main contributors to what is called the "Miami sound" - it's rich - it's deep - it's hotter than hot. Besides being at the forefront of the "Miami Sound", Oscar G. also partners with Ralph Falcon to comprise Murk [the award-winning production/remix team.]

Mixing genres such as house, tribal, disco, latin, and electro, Oscar G. makes the first half his latest release, "Made In Miami", an emotive and sexy compilation with the last half going for the darker, deeper, harder vibe. Taking months to selectively choose the right tracks, the final picks were from well-known artists such as Basement Jaxx, Steve Lawler, Funky Green Dogs and Lee Coombs. Oscar G. then took the chosen few and enhanced them with edits, loops, and sampled vocals.

All the way through "Made In Miami" there are thankfully no cheesy, dated, or useless shock-value tracks. One of the most creative accomplishments is track nine on CD 1 - DJ Pezi's "The New Dimension". Oscar G. mashed it up with Basement Jaxx and Ralphie Rosario to create a layered energetic sound all its own. Says Oscar G. "This is a true representation of how I put my sets together and what I like to hear." These are tasteful, timeless dance tunes that Oscar G. has put into a layout that allows each track to enhance each other.

CD 2 starts out darker with a simplistic electro soundscape. "Vibrate 2005" stays dark and gets chunky. "The Walk" builds again with its disco/electro energy. The dark deep energy grips even harder with "Sword Fight" by Lower East Side. "Move Your Body" starts into the climax with its hard pushing rhythm. But then suddenly the groove is lost and the vibe turns heavy electro/techno with "Wanna Get Wet" and its repetitive electro sounds [although it does have a cool morphed male vocal.] At one point there is too much going on and the mix direction gets lost until "The Box" makes its way in and a more tribal feel returns. Again though, suddenly an oddity is thrown in with "The Horn". Leaning towards experimental and electro with piercing synth and siren-style sounds, the vibe gets cold. There are moments of the final track "Vanity" that are moving, but the colder electro segments detract from the vibe and the ending track is a somewhat disappointing after such an exciting listen through most of mix.

CD 1 is killer with its overall happy tribal/house and CD 2 comes in as second favorite with the majority of deep dark tracks synonymous with peak dance time. Overall, "Made In Miami" full of energy, mostly cohesive, and spans the emotional spectrum while also giving a taste of various dance music genres.

Oscar has shown us that he can be one of the premier club DJ's in the country...and now he has done it in the studio. Both discs take us on a journey that gives us an idea what he must be like to see live. Disc #1 standout track is #4. Sick track...especially in the club. Overall, a good showing from a great DJ.
