Good idea in theory. . .,

When my daughter was 14 mos I saw these and thought it would be a great idea to prevent snack spills, etc. so I bought a few. Unfortunately, the lid is WAY too easy for her to take off - in fact she even found removing the lid to be fun and ultimately rendering the function of the thing useless. If they made the lids more snug then it would be a 5 star product, however, I have to give it only 1 star since the lid-issue makes it no better than a regular bowl.

Best Invention Ever!,

This review is from: Made For Mom Snack Trap, Colors and Styles May Vary (Baby Product)
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this snack cup. My toddler uses it almost every day - for snacking in the living room, in the car, on walks - it is perfect. We have owned ours for over a year and I wish I had about 3 more.
I read the negative reviews - my son, now 2, has never taken the top off. I suppose some kids might, but that has never been an issue for us. And no, it does not have a top to put over it for tossing in the diaper bag or purse, but I never really worried about that either. I cannot say enough good things about this product. It really is great!

Complete Failure to Perform as Advertised,

Forget about taking the lid off - all the kid has to do is hold down one flap and turn the cup upside-down. This can't be used for any small snacks, like Cheerios, which I'm sure most parents are using it for. I've only had success with large crackers staying in here and, even then, if she tilts it upside-down, the small fragmented pieces fall out everywhere. This snack trap just doesn't trap the snacks. I'm going to try the one made by Munchkin.

Most awful and painful product!,

This review is from: Made For Mom Snack Trap, Colors and Styles May Vary (Baby Product)
This product is made with cheap plastic and the lid scratches your hand everytime you reach in...who would want to have their child's hand go through the painful scratching lid for a handful of cheerios?!? It's like tourturing the child everytime he wants some snacks. Unlike the pictue, I received a very ugly green one with a picture of a cow on it. The brand was "The Snack Trap" and not "Made For Mom Snack Trap." This is a total rip off! Product was made in India. I'd give it no star if that was an option!

Works but not great for little little ones,

This product is a very reasonable price, and it works pretty well. The issue? Little ones (mine is 13 months) don't care for the fact that the plastic holding the food in is pokey. It pulls at their skin/hands and is just unpleasant enough that she refused to use it. If you really need to keep food off the floor, away from pets, out of your car seats, invest in the Munchie Mug. It is much more expensive but works perfectly, holds more, has a cap to seal the cup when not in use, and is soft, soft, soft on little hands.

Perfect for my little snacker!,

The Snack Trap has been great for my 11-month-old daughter. She loves to eat rice puffs, and it's nice to be able to just let her have this dish when we're out and not have to worry about losing all the puffs. The only setback is that after a while, the lid becomes a little less effective at keeping snacks from spilling out when it's turned upside down. But it's still better than the alternative! I'd recommend having a couple of these for your little one.

GREAT FOR BABY,

It holds the snacks- and nothing falls out. My 11 month old can get the snacks out on his own. The plastic lid is solid enough to keep the snacks in, but soft enough the get little hands in.
The only "negative" thing is that it is hardly gender neutral- the one I got was blue with a car on it. Not that that matters much.

Good, But Not Gender Neutral,

These work fine to contain most spills. My 12 month old likes to eat on the go and I wanted something I could leash to the stroller and also that he could grab easily with one hand. The handles are PERFECT for that! He still hasn't figured out the actual mechanics of the top, but he's able to get food out. It just takes more effort than if he were a few months older. HOWEVER, in the car, he was shaking it like a maraca along with the music, and when I went in the back, there were graham bunnies and cheerios surrounding him in the carseat...so it isn't fool proof. Also, the listing is for a GENDER NEUTRAL product and though it indicated colors may vary, I was fine with pretty much any gender neutral option. I ordered one for a friend, which ended up being green with an animal on it. But when I ordered for us, it was blue with a race car. I have a boy, and I'd still probably use it for a girl since we have it, but it's certainly not gender neutral - so beware the possibility.

Just another container cluttering the cupboard,

I bought this because I loved the concept. I have to agree with quite a few of the other reviews, that the lid comes off too easily. Perhaps it needs to be a screw on lid like the sippy cups. I love the idea, but my toddler looks at it as an opportunity to open something and dump a snack on the floor. It's more like a messy food game than a tidy snack helper! Product has room for improvement for future product generations. Honestly, don't waste your money. My toddler likes the containers better without the lid because of the two handles on each side. He doesn't spill when the lid is off. Overall evaluation:
Durability - pretty sturdy plastic, the rubbery lid is just too easy to remove. Size - perfect for little hands Design - two handles are great for little hands Just wish the lid screwed on instead of pressed on.

GREAT IDEA!!! YES THERE IS A LID SOLD SEPARATELY,

I am not sure why the other reviewers are stating that this item does not have a lid available as I was able to purchase a lid separately made specifically for the Snack Trap from a leading toy store/baby supply chain. This has been great for use in the car and for stroller rides. My little man is 18 months old and has not attempted to pull the lid off yet.
This is a great product. |
