I started a marathon 3 days before James Gandolfini's death. A friend on Facebook mentioned a few lines from the opening theme and I went on a nothing but Sopranos marathon. Two week later I am finished with all 6 seasons. I'm just as sad over the series being over as I was when it aired live. The absolute, greatest show in television history. Belongs in the Smithsonian.

This is a review for the entire series. I started "kinda sorta" watching this last month, putting it on in the background while I did some work on the computer, just so I had background noise. I had heard a lot of good things about this show, so I thought it was finally time to give it a try now since Amazon added the whole shebang to Prime and my time with The Wire (excellent show) was just finished. As the episodes passed and days passed, I began to focus more on this show than I did on my work. It came to a point where I would drop everything when it became that time in the evening to watch more of The Sopranos.

As far as I can tell, there is no show out there quite like this one. At least, not of the quality of The Sopranos. For my time and money, there will be no other fiction about the psychology and structure of the mafia family than this one. Every single regularly returning character are very well developed, flawed, and extremely interesting. The big bear especially, Tony Soprano, is one of the most fascinating characters I've ever come to know in any live action fiction. So many facets to this fellow. Charming, protective, loving, vindictive, greedy, angry, depressed, self-destructive, vulnerable, empty. It goes on an on. And he's not the only one. Most of the other regular cast are similarly showered with distinctly relatable (in one way or another) character quirks and eccentricities. Beyond the characters, the direction and writing treats the viewer with respect and is often understated and elegant in layering its running plot threads and the subsequent callbacks therein. The finale itself is truly a masterpiece.

I adore this show and wish I had been smart enough to have experienced it earlier. Now that it's finished, I find myself asking "now what am I gonna watch?" I imagine finding a show that matches the quality of this one is going to be difficult.

I love the Sopranos but I think they hit their peak at season 5. Season 6 was a let down especially the last episode. What the heck was that? Eating in the diner.... Please. James Gandolfini, your work was a treasure. You are missed by many.

Didn't have HBO when the season ran ,but heard all the talk about it from people around me. When the series became available on Amazon Prime I decided to give it a shot and was immediately hooked! One of the best I have seen.

Watching this just makes me miss James Gandolfino even more. I loved Sopranos but of course thr ending left me kind of infuriated. Either way I love this show and one of my favorite actresses, the multi-talented incomparable Edie Falco.

The concluding episodes of the Soprano family saga. The power struggle is on for control of NY/ NJ. If you never saw the finale, it certainly isn't what you expect. Still one of the best TV series ever produced. HBO does it best.

This was the final season and a good season it was. Personalities died and others emerged. The show started the way it ended, with Tony in therapy (w/Carmella), Meadow, her usual brilliant self, truly growing into daddy's little girl, becoming a lawyer as a result of all the stuff she saw growing up, voicing her very strong beliefs. Tony Jr., well, he lived up to the potential of uber rich New Jersey kids, dumped the brown GF and took a BMW and an easy trail to his dreams. Tony was facing another potential indictment, his solution, take the family to a dinner.

In the end you could make him out to be a gangster, or just a guy providing for his family in the best way he knew how.

The Sopranos is by far one of the best, if not best, TV series of all times and Season 6 did not disappoint. And contrary to some fans' opinions I thought the Series Finale was Excellent and if you are a true Sopranos fan and have re-watched this series as much Ias i have you will have a pretty good idea of what went down and all of the "foreshadowing" of said event. Ever time i re-watch and episode I am picking up littles nuances that i don't remeber from previous viewings. This show is intricate and layered and pure genius. And as an Italian -American I can tell that David Chase was wither Italian or knew quite a few Italians very well because this series had something that every Italian "family" could identify with! :-)
