Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com

It's Christmas Eve in Paris and 11 of the girls in two straight lines, as well as their beloved Miss Clavel, are sick in bed. Madeline, everyone's favorite smallest one, is the only one left standing and so she bravely gives up her chance to go home for Christmas in order to bring tea and tissues to her friends. When the old house covered with vines is also covered with snow thanks to a storm, it looks like the holiday won't be very merry until the girls' own Christmas angel shows up to make things right. Based on Ludwig Bemelmans's book, the story and little-girl French accents couldn't be more charming. --Kimberly Heinrichs

What a wonderful story. My daughter watches Madelines Christmas all year round. She never tires of it. Since she loved the Christmas one so much, I have since bought her six other Madeline adventures. I hope they continue to make new Madeline videos for years to come.

5.0 out of 5 stars Enchanting story, October 10, 1999

What a beautiful storyline this video has! My 3 year old watches this over and over again. The song "Never Give Up on Wishes" is very pretty and gives hope to all who hear it. I must admit that even I have been enchanted by Madeline!

5.0 out of 5 stars A must-see for all ages!, February 15, 2005
By
RDL "roberto" (Trujillo Alto, PR) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Madeline's Christmas [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is my most favored Madeline episode. And why not? It's got warmth, selflessness, love and a little magic. That Madeline, the smallest girl in the old house, is the only one not to come down with a cold and has to care for everyone else, poses a daunting task, but one which, once taken willingly, is rewarded with the help of Madame Marie - and wishes granted. I won't go into details - you'll have to watch this one - but trust me, it's worth it. How good is it? Curl-up-in-front-of-the-TV-with-someone-dear-to-you good!
