Product Description
Madhava Organic Agave Nectar is made from the natural juice (aguamiel) of the agave plant, organically grown and sustainably farmed in the Sierra Madres region of Mexico. Organic Agave is gluten- and allergen-free, vegan, and it has a low Glycemic Index, so you can avoid energy spikes with other sugars. Because agave is 1.4 times sweeter than sugar you can use less and reduce calories - making agave a healthy, easy, natural choice! The lighter grade of agave nectar is flavor neutral, enhancing the flavors of foods without altering their taste while the Amber agave makes a great substitute for maple syrup, molasses and brown sugar.

I have found agave nectar to be flexible and delicious - it can be used in drinks, baking, or nearly anywhere honey, sugar, or artificial sweeteners would be.
That said, my bottle arrived leaking and damaged from shipping - it was not packaged very well. I also found out that you can get this particular item much cheaper at many local chain grocery stores.

Madhava Agave Nectar is wonderful for making gourmet sorbets. You simply put one pound of strawberries (stems and tops removed) in a blender and add two small peeled oranges, two teaspoons of vanilla, a fourth of a cup of agave nectar and one teaspoon of cinnamon. Blend this and then strain it into a metal bowl. Put the bowl in the freezer and stir now and then. You could also put it in an ice cream maker. Within about two to three hours you will have a delicious sorbet. I also use this nectar in tea. I haven't tried it in baking yet but the amber flavor is delicious.

Agave Nectar can be used for so many things and is so very sweet that I may never use honey again! You can use it to replace regular sweeners in almost anything! YummY!!!
