About the Author

Elisabeth Roudinesco was a member of Jacques Lacan's Ecole Freudienne de Paris from 1969 to 1980. her books include Un Discours du reel, L'Inconscient et ses letters and a two-volume Histoire de la psychanalyse. The second volume has appeared in English as Jacques Lacan and Co. A History of Psychoanalysis in France, 1925-1985.
