Customer Reviews

I thought the book would go further into these stories.
Bobbie in Boynton
This short was more like an advertisement for Phelp's book referenced frequently throughout and not what one would expect after reading his past works.
ALR
Based on this book alone, I would never purchase another of his works or bother with the TV show.

. . . and clearly worth reading. Just be aware that this is not a chronological story per se, but rather a commentary on one true crime writer's participation in the production of a true crime tv show - which I unfortunately have not seen. I like this writer, and enjoyed his additional information and insights. Perhaps most of all, I appreciated his honest insight into a murder within his own family. I could really identify, since we too have an unsolved homicide in our immediate family. It's forever haunting, and I don't often find this anywhere else . . .

I'm a big fan of both the writers, but this item was a little disappointing. Not enough Greg Olsen for one thing. M. William Phelps is always great, but he needed a better editor/proofreader this time considering the typos and errors. It seems like this work was done in a hurry. Still interesting, though. I have to admit my major disappointment was the relatively short length.

This contains a few short stories based on books he has written. He also talks about Dark Minds his tv show on ID. It was written to be specifically an e-book. There were a couple writing errors. But all in all I enjoyed it,it's a quick read and I would recommend it.

Mr. Olsen is a fine writer and based on his previous books which were very good. This one is a very poor read with nothing to read but a lot of double talk and informative nonsense. Truly a "lousy" read.

I've been reading for 50 years and this is just the second time I felt I wanted a refund for a book I'd bought. There are more editing errors in this book than any other I've ever read. Mistakes range from misspellings to indentation errors to sentences that have no periods at their ends. On page 49 Phelps actually APOLOGIZES for the poor quality of graphic work in the book. I've never heard of an author doing that before. In addition, much of this book is nothing more than a publicity vehicle for other books he's written and for a TV show that he apparently hosts. Based on this book alone, I would never purchase another of his works or bother with the TV show. He's a serial expert all right, a serial hack. This was literally the worst reading experience of my life. I can't even find an adjective to describe how disgusting it was.

A different kind of book that tells about how the authors of these books compile and obtain information about the killers they write about
