Book Description

Frustrated by the rising body count and lack of evidence, veteran homicide detective, Mac Jackson, questions his own ethics when he risks the life of an innocent young woman to trap a cunning and sadistic serial killer. Known for his uncanny precision with a hunch, he is all too aware that, this time, the stakes are much higher if his gamble fails to pay off.

Jessica Croft, withdrawn, vulnerable, and emotionally scarred, moves from Sacramento to begin a new life in San Francisco with her twin brother, Judd. Ninety miles from the sinister, shameful secrets of her past, and the madness that tore their family apart, she hopes to find tranquility, maybe even love. However, her chance for happiness is short-lived when she suddenly finds herself the target of a relentless madman with a deadly agenda. Loath to continue living a life of fear, Jessica tells no one when she takes a bold risk to draw him out; dangerously unaware of the trap he has already set for her. Now nothing may be able to save her except the accuracy of a hunch.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Fantastic Read July 3, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
Great first book. I couldnt put it down I was hooked after the first chapter. This book has all of the never-ending series of twists and action and suspense of a James Patterson novel I forgot that I was reading a new author. If you dont give this new author a chance you will be missing out. I cannot wait until her next book comes out. My only regret is it is not availible in book form.

5.0 out of 5 stars Immediately engaging July 23, 2010
By Wifeski
Format:Kindle Edition
The first couple of paragraphs immediately engaged my attention and the rest of the book delivered as well. I loved how the characters and story developed, with plot twists that kept me guessing. I felt the ending wrapped everything up nicely, but also left me wanting to read more Mac Jackson stories in the future. Hard to believe this was a debut novel. I can't wait to read this author's next release.

I didn't want the book to end! This book had well developed characters and a great story that kept you guessing. The book left me wanting to hear more about many of the characters in future, namely Alex and Mac. I hope there are many more books to come from this author.

More About the Author

I am a mystery/thriller writer and a native Brit, currently dividing my time between the UK and the US, researching and writing.

San Francisco is the setting for my first three mystery/thrillers: MADNESS AND MURDER, NO ALIBI, and HIDE AND SEEK.

MADNESS AND MURDER has entered the Amazon bestseller list for mysteries/thrillers on several occasions. HIDE AND SEEK has also been a #1 bestseller in the thriller category.

My background in real estate and finance provides inspiration for my stories, as does my love of travel and ex-pat status. I've practiced martial arts in the form of Shotokan Karate and hold six belts. I am currently working on my fourth thriller, Stone Cold, which is set in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.

San Francisco Mystery/Thrillers
We lived in San Fran for half a year, as tourists. There are so many remarkable, small neighborhoods, with such diverse flavors. We almost never drove our car; it was too easy to hop a train or bus. There were flowers everywhere, and the friendliest people. It is also the best dining city in... Read more
