4.0 out of 5 stars C'mon, it's her first world tour!, December 30, 1999
By
Je5u5 (Caracas, Venezuela) - See all my reviews
This show was recorded in the late 80's. And it should not be compared with the 90's concerts standarts.

If you keep that in mind, you'd realize that the show was TERRIFIC, maybe the best world tour ever done by a female singer back then.

Of course that you won't find "Beautiful Stranger", "Ray Of Light", "Take A Bow", or even "Vogue" and "Express Yourself" there, but it has CLASSIC songs like "Lucky Star", "Holiday", "Material Girl", "Live To Tell", "La Isla Bonita", "Open Your Heart", "Into The Groove", "Who's That Girl" and "Papa Don't Preach".

If you really like Madonna or if you really like pop music you WILL enjoy this concert, not only as a show but as a documentary of the rise of the ultimate pop icon of our times.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Madonna Live Concert, October 14, 2005
I think that "Ciao Italia: Live From Italy" is Madonna's best live concert. The track list featured here comprises Madonna's best 80's songs, probably her best. The DVD begins with the technical preparations of the tour - being their last night performing. Then the concert officially begins with an intro of pulsating beats and rythmic moves. Then the white curtain raises...Madonna appears dancing in the same bustier of the song being presented: "Open Your Heart". After "Open Your Heart", another great 80's hit, "Lucky Star", is being presented. After that we go over "True Blue", "Papa Don't Preach", "Medley: Dress You Up/Material Girl/Like A Virgin", "The Look Of Love", "Holiday" and others. Basically this is Madonna's best concert because the songs are great, the sound and image is terrific and the way the songs are presented is marvelous. My favorite songs here are "Open Your Heart", "Lucky Star", "La Isla Bonita" and "Who's That Girl". I truly recommend buying this DVD...you won't regret it. Only Mads could do such a wonderful performance...

This review is from: Madonna - Ciao Italia (Live from Italy) [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Madonna brings us almost 2 hours of live concert from Italy. Two years after her successful Virgin Tour in 1985 Madonna went out in 1987 on this Who's That Girl Tour. Both the audio and the video are excellent on the VHS tape. The video features these songs:

Open Your Heart
Lucky Star
True Blue
Papa Don't Preach
White Heat
Causing A Commotion
The Look Of Love
Dress You Up
Material Girl
Like A Virgin
Where's The Party
Live To Tell
Into The Groove
La Isla Bonita
Who's That Girl
Holiday
