It's worth the price alone for the photos of Madonna as a young child and in high school. I have NEVER seen these anywhere else before!

Some interesting facts and photos to be found. Otherwise it's just as campy, self-conscious and quotable as the Material Girl herself - but without her sex appeal or charisma

This book is far from perfect. There are errors in some details, which is a problem in every book I've read about Madonna. But it was written at a really interesting point in Madonna's career. She had just ended the iconic Blonde Ambition tour, and Truth or Dare was popular. She had just released Justify My Love, but had not released Sex, which would polorize her fans. So it's fun to look back at that moment.
What's more fun is to read the author's predictions for the future. If nothing else, you have to read this book for the epilogue. My favorite prediction is that her touring career wouldn't last since "a woman in her fifties can't do the same thing as a woman in her thirties." But the best prediction, because is so the worst, is that Madonna was almost bound to die an untimely death! He even suggests it might be planned because it would cement her status as an icon. Funny stuff.
A lot of the book is cobbled together from interviews and articles, which does not make for great writing, but let's you easily reference many of his sources.

I couldn't put this book down. There are many things I didn't know about her...wow!!!
