First Compilation of Madonna's Videos,
By
This review is from: Madonna [VHS] (VHS Tape)
With her rising popularity and heavy radio play during the mid 1980s, Madonna was bound to have her earliest videos compiled on videocassette. The first in a series of many compilations "Madonna: Madonna" contains four videos that were released on her self titled debut album and sophomore album, "Like A Virgin." Starting with the classic "Borderline" (which features a yet unknown actor by the name of John Leguizamo in a non-speaking extra role; keep an eye out for him in the breakdancing scenes) the tape continues with three other Madonna video gems, "Lucky Star," "Like a Virgin" and the hard to find video "Burning Up," which only can be found on this videocassette (it was not included in Madonna's "Immaculate Collection" compilation)."Burning Up," which is still one of my favorite Madonna songs, is a creative video, incorporating clever set designs and lightning. The "Lucky Star" video which features a version of the song that was previously unavailable (now available on Madonna's remastered "Madonna" album that was released during the summer of 2001) also differs from the version found on her "Immaculate Collection" DVD. Now, I only wish both videos were available on DVD with many of her other videos not found on other compilations (e.g., "I Want You," "Into the Groove," etc.) However, if you are a true Madonna fan and need to have every one of her videos, than this tape is necessary. If not, let's wait and see if the "Burning Up" video will be re-released on DVD as a single or on a compilation in the future. Overall, a great tape full of memories and the makings of one of the Twentieth Century's greatest stars.

This review is from: Madonna [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I'm a huge fan of Madonna since 1984, and notice that everyone were talking about Burning Up being to be the only not on Immaculate Collection, what they forgot to mention is that Lucky Star is the Remix version and a bit longer, Immaculate collection is the normal version, also in the DVD section, Madonna-Madonna is announce to come out January 2002. This is a gem for all Madonna's fans.Hope this is helpful
