5.0 out of 5 stars First Compilation of Madonna's Videos
With her rising popularity and heavy radio play during the mid 1980s, Madonna was bound to have her earliest videos compiled on videocassette. The first in a series of many compilations "Madonna: Madonna" contains four videos that were released on her self titled debut album and sophomore album, "Like A Virgin." Starting with the classic...

2.0 out of 5 stars What this tape contains:
While I haven't seen this video, a clarification was requested. The video contains 4 promo (mtv) videos: Burning up, Lucky Star, Borderline, and Like a Virgin. The three latter ones are also included on "the immaculate collection", which leaves only "burning up", one of her earliest songs, and not that great. This one seems to be for die hard fans only

5.0 out of 5 stars First Compilation of Madonna's Videos, April 9, 2002

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Madonna [VHS] (VHS Tape)
With her rising popularity and heavy radio play during the mid 1980s, Madonna was bound to have her earliest videos compiled on videocassette. The first in a series of many compilations "Madonna: Madonna" contains four videos that were released on her self titled debut album and sophomore album, "Like A Virgin." Starting with the classic "Borderline" (which features a yet unknown actor by the name of John Leguizamo in a non-speaking extra role; keep an eye out for him in the breakdancing scenes) the tape continues with three other Madonna video gems, "Lucky Star," "Like a Virgin" and the hard to find video "Burning Up," which only can be found on this videocassette (it was not included in Madonna's "Immaculate Collection" compilation).

"Burning Up," which is still one of my favorite Madonna songs, is a creative video, incorporating clever set designs and lightning. The "Lucky Star" video which features a version of the song that was previously unavailable (now available on Madonna's remastered "Madonna" album that was released during the summer of 2001) also differs from the version found on her "Immaculate Collection" DVD.

Now, I only wish both videos were available on DVD with many of her other videos not found on other compilations (e.g., "I Want You," "Into the Groove," etc.) However, if you are a true Madonna fan and need to have every one of her videos, than this tape is necessary. If not, let's wait and see if the "Burning Up" video will be re-released on DVD as a single or on a compilation in the future.

Overall, a great tape full of memories and the makings of one of the Twentieth Century's greatest stars.

I'm a huge fan of Madonna since 1984, and notice that everyone were talking about Burning Up being to be the only not on Immaculate Collection, what they forgot to mention is that Lucky Star is the Remix version and a bit longer, Immaculate collection is the normal version, also in the DVD section, Madonna-Madonna is announce to come out January 2002. This is a gem for all Madonna's fans.

Hope this is helpful

All the videos contained on this tape are available on the bigger compilation THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION except for BURNING UP which can only be found on this cassette tape AND ALSO if you have the IMMACULATE COLLECTION ON VHS then you are also missing the 12" Version of Lucky Star. Strangely enough tho, the 12" version is the one used in THE IMMACULATE COLLECTION DVD!! WEIRD HUH?!?

5.0 out of 5 stars When Madonna was prettier than ever!, November 29, 2002

This video is very nice to watch. It has Madonnas first videos made for her early biggest hits. This video is enjoyable because you get to see Madonna during the early eighties when she was still fresh, young, and innocent. This video takes you back in time when Madonna was more feminine and prettier than what she is now. This is a video for any hardcore Madonna fan of her early eighties look. Seeing this video in a way makes you miss the old Madonna from the Like A Virgin days.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good quality, August 18, 2001
This review is from: Madonna [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This is a must-have for any Mega Madonna fan! It shows the very first videos she ever made, back in her early days in the 80s.

The videos are nicely shown; the title of each video is shown at the beginning of each one so you don't get confused.

If you're a big Madonna fan, I promise you'll like this.
