5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent cd!, January 11, 2000
For any who have sung such madrigals or are fans of this type of music, this is a fantastic cd. Lassus' Mon coeur se recommande a vous is breathtaking. I wouldn't trade this cd for anything.

5.0 out of 5 stars Quality at any Age, July 25, 2000
By A Customer
My personal favorites are tracks 1,4 and 5. Note that this recording was originally made in the early 1960s, but the quality of the recording and arrangements are absolutly superior. The all male voices of some recordings(ie. King's Singers) are more acurate for the period; however, the soprano in this CD is the best I have ever heard at interpreting the french madrigal style. After hearing this group, you'll wonder why the singing groups at ren-fairs don't sound this good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great music by Thomas Tomkins..., January 23, 2000
..."When David heard that Absalom was slained" is closest to the feeling I had when I read the corresponding chapter in the Bible.

The Dellar Consort used to have a recording of the 3 masses by Byrd, singing only with 3, 4, 5 singers each. Anyone knows where to get it?
