About the Author
Brian Schlosser M.A. is a Northwest native writer, researcher and academic. Schlosser has been infatuated with literature and its nuances since he was a young child. He completed his undergraduate studies at WSU with a Bachelors of English, presenting an undergraduate thesis entitled: “Live and Let Die: Analyzing a Struggle of Paradigm in the Works of Lu Xun.” Schlosser moved on to study rhetoric and composition, Postcolonial literature, and 20th century British literature at Portland State University, where he completed his Masters degree. He has worked as Assistant Managing and Managing Editor of the VANCOUGAR newspaper and Poetry Editor of the SALMON CREEK JOURNAL (2004). Schlosser is married to his wife of 12 years, Sarah, and is the proud father of his three children Julian, Devon and Paige. Richard F. Yates received his B.A. in Humanities from Washington State University. He is married to an optician, Mariah, and has two daughters, Frankie and Ellie. In addition to spending time with his family, he writes poetry and fiction, draws, paints, and makes zines. He was the poetry editor of the SALMON CREEK JOURNAL in 2005, curator of an international postal art archive—The M.A.R.S. Project—from 2007 to 2009, and taught the youth writing workshops for the Raymond Carver Writing Festival in Clatskanie, Oregon, in 2008 and 2009. His poetry and short fiction can be found in numerous online, small press, and independent journals including MAD SWIRL, SHOOTS AND VINES, VISION? NARY! MAGAZINE, COUNTEREXAMPLE POETICS, WORDS-MYTH, CLOCKWISE CAT, and THE CALLIOPE NERVE.
