There are a few grammar errors ('to' vs. 'too')

but the big problem is run-on sentences such as:

The birds weren't singing, in fact, he didn't even see any.

and

Just then, he spotted Maebelle, he ran towards her as fast as he could yelling all the way.

and mixed tense

Maebelle stood watching Willy and suddenly realizing that the sky was not itself and decided to move closer to cover.

I found it very awkward to read to my son. The story is ok, and with a good proof read and cleanup, I'd probably give it 3/4 stars.

The story was really cute about a duck and a barnyard full of animals facing a tornado.

Some things could have been better defined, like I went back to the beginning of the story to figure out, "Now was Willy a duck or
a chick?" I didn't see it in the first few sentences. So then I thought I'd look closer at the pics. But they were too small, and I couldn't enlarge them on my tablet. The cover image is big enough, but Willy isn't in the cover image, although he's the main focus of the story.
And at first, when they said Maebelle was missing, I thought she was one of the chicks. So a little better definition and/or better images to help the flow of the story and eliminate the confusion.

None of that kept me from liking the story, though.
Very cute.

This was a really cute book. My daughter enjoyed the animals in the story. It would been better if it explained what a tornado was.

I got this book to read to my 5 year old son. He listened while I read, but I don't believe he understood it very much. Willy didn't know what a tornado was and called it a "nado"; that was lost on my son. Then when Willy knew that danger was coming, he ran right out into it instead of listening to his mother who brought him in the barn to stay safe; I of course did not like that. My son understood that Willy went out to save Maebelle, then her hat (and accomplished both), and then ended up being safe. It was cute, but nothing I'd read again.

Grammar/spelling was poorly edited. The story was a little bland. But my 4-yr-old liked it because it was about tornadoes.

Nice short story. However, I found myself more focused on trying to figure out who Willy was, rather than the story line. Is he a boy or an animal? A couple of times I reread the beginning pages trying to find out who he was. It does not say until 70% into the story. He is in fact a duck. The pictures started to give me a clue at some point.

This was a cute little story! Poor Willy didn't have a clue, but throughout the story he did what he could. I was so happy the little fellow was protected during the storm.

I read this to my 5 year old granddaughter cuz she likes me to read books to her on my Kindle. Finding it was about a tornado I assured her that we did not have them where we lived (Sacramento, CA) only to have one touch down a few miles from us a couple weeks later! I was glad to be able to remind her about Maebelle and then even more fun to read it to her afterwards. Both of us enjoyed it before and after experiencing the "nado". She also enjoyed reading it herself.
