An exciting book,
By Liam O'Leary (Vancouver) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Maestro, Number 2: Preposterous Fables for Unusual Children (Preposterous Tales for Unusual) (Hardcover)
The Maestro by Judd Palmer is a very exciting book. The genre of this book is fantasy. Themain setting of this story is the mountains. The main characters are a girl named Hannah, Oscar the ghost of a rat, the evil Maestro, Ludwig a clarinet player, and Aunt Greta and Uncle Otto (who Hannah lives with). A little girl moves to a town where music is banned because of a maestro who stole all the children. She is caught singing and told she has to leave. She goes to a mountain cave where the maestro and his orchestra are. She wants to join the orchestra and sing but the maestro says singing is not required. The rats the Maestro killed and the townspeople come to kill the Maestro but Hannah sings to stop them and tells to take home their children. She asks the Maestro if she can stay and be a student and he says yes and then they live happily ever after. I chose this book because my mom gave it to me because she said I might enjoy it. I also chose the book because I’d read another book by the same author called The Tooth Fairy that I really
