Even the most common, ordinary objects in the modern world and history may contain secret messages, steeped in codes and symbols. Brad Meltzer's Decoded is a show where the viewer follows a team of investigators who try to determine the meanings behind various symbolism, alleged secret codes and conspiracies that surround us everyday. In each episode, these credible researchers will travel far and wide to examine the clues and decode the hidden meaning behind these seemingly innocuous origins. They will canvas the darkest reaches of the world to connect dots toward revealing a deeper truth.

I love this show. I'm not a Conspiracy Theorist or a Conspiracy buff, I just enjoy watching shows dealing with Historical and unsolved mysteries. I agree with some critics that the show is far from being perfect, but each episode is full of interesting and fascinating information, and I've learned a lot while watching these episodes. Keep an open mind while watching this show, and don't take EVERYTHING they say too seriously. If, like me, you buy a lot of Historical documentaries on DVD then add this set to your collection, you won't regret it. The show is not perfect, maybe not for everyone, but it's definitely a fun show to watch. Enjoy ! :)

This set contains all 13 episodes from season 2, on 4 DVDs. Each episode is 45 minutes long.

1. FT.Knox
Brad's investigators look at one of the most secure places on Earth - the Bullion Depository at Fort Knox, where the U.S. Government reportedly keeps 147.3 million ounces (over 4,600 tons) of gold. Because there has not been a public audit of the gold since 1974 however, the team looks into rumors that the vault is now empty, and if true, it could devastate the nation's economy.

The best part of these programs was the historical background for the various subjects. Unfortunately, I was never completely convinced that the conclusions were valid because so many possible avenues of investigation were not followed. Some of the investigators brought along their own presuppositions and let their prejudices color their view of the evidence. They could have been more objective. While the topics were interesting and entertaining, the depth of the research was shallow. I would love to see this series shot again with a budget about four times as big and with a team of scientifically trained investigators.

If the gold was gone it wouldn't mean anything for the U.S. dollar. Our currency is legal tender in the form a promissory note known as a Federal Reserve Note. It only has perceptional value ( i.e. we all agree it has value and how much value each individual note has). The Federal Reserve is a private bank. The United States government does not own the Federal Reserve. Every dollar we have is borrowed and comes with a percentage of interest owed to the Federal Reserve. Gold does have a role in our economy, but it not that our economy is based or secured by it.

Decoded is an overstatement. More questions are posed a none are answered. But if your looking for interesting questions on such topics, then it's for you.

The series is good enough to find some exciting things. The team risks a lot going in some places where is forbidden to be. That's most of the excited thing :)
Don't expect though to have a real explanation or mystery solved.

The trio present the info in a generally fair and balanced manner. Some assumptions made that personally would not be made.In the end you still decide for yourself .

At first I wasn't sure what to think about the show. They never really solve the mysteries, but in watching a few episodes I discovered the information and experiences of the people contributing to the show are what make it so much fun. It's sort of like mythbusters but without the hard evidence. The group tries to gather as much evidence as they can but in most cases they usually only consist of other people's stories. It's not a bad thing, some of the stories are fascinating. But at the end of every show you are left with the groups opinions on wether or not they believe what ever it is they are trying to uncover is true or false. It's still a great and exciting show, they pick some great topics to cover. I'm really hoping they film more but what they have now with the 2 seasons is highly addictive and fun to watch. It's worth a shot. I'd definitely recommend checking the show out.

I like how this series presents evidence without thinking for you.

The topic of each episode is almost always intriguing, even the episode I initially thought would have been dull.

I watch so many shows in this genre, as well as read about these topics, but through this series I almost always learn something I didn't already know.

Worth watching.
