Buy this.... buy it... seriously... NOW!,

Ok, on advice from my friend, I checked out this cd. Holy crap, it's wonderful. Unlike it's successor, Vertigo, it seems more well-rounded... it has some beautiful ballads, some up-tempo riffs, and one track that comes off like a monologue from a play. Vertigo is excellent as well, but it comes off kinda Radioheadish. Magazine has a more well-defined identity. It is a CD that requires many listens all the way through. Each song adds to the CD - they are all very different, but as a whole make a great compilation. "Not Today" is a great opener, "Cathdrals" is numbingly beautiful, "Body Parts" is a great unleashing of frustration, and it just doesn't get any better than "B-13." Then the last track, "Close Your Eyes" could soothe you to sleep. Great, great stuff.

Awesome Breakthrough Band,

Jump, Little Children's Magazine is a great CD. They are so different from many other bands because their songs do not all sound like each other. These five guys have a great classical music background, and it shines through as they bring their classical music skills into the world of rock and roll. The music ranges from beautiful (Cathedrals) to rock (My Guitar) to an almost rap-like quality (Body Parts). I found J,LC refreshingly original in concert, and the CD is worth ten times the price.

Startling Versatility Shines in Magazine,
By A Customer

The talented musicians on this album have created a great variety of styles and poetry for any music fan to enjoy. Jay Clifford's clear voice on his slow ballads are hypnotizing as usual, especially "Cathedrals", but the beat of Evan Bivins' drums keep this album rocking and rolling even more than their previous releases. Matt Bivins' vocals and the string orchestrations on the hip-hop numbers are superb and sexy and tickle your tender spots. Just try to listen to "Body Parts" without getting weak in the knees. Some fans might want more of their early folk/Irish roots to shine through, but I think they have taken those roots and grown the most interesting music plant I've ever seen. Each song a surprise, each lyric an explosion of imagery. Each time I listen to it, another song sticks in my head which is the best reason to buy it. No "One-Hit- Wonders", this Jump, Little Children band. Their startling versatilty means, for the true music fan, if you like one song, just wait, you might like the next one even better.

Jump is an awesome band, and each CD they release reveals a new aspect of their character. This was the first Jump album I ever bought, and it is one of my very favorite CDs of all time. It has a little of everything... "Cathedrals" and "Close Your Eyes" are beautiful, and "Body Parts" is the sexiest song I have ever heard. "Magazine" and "Guitar" are peppy, feel-good songs that really round out the CD.

The Most Wonderful!!,

This cd is, in a word, moving. When I first heard the single, "Cathedrals", I cried. It's such a beautiful and pure song. Then, after I bought the cd, I connected with other songs, such as "My Guitar" and (especially) "b-13". J,LC is an awesome band, with such talent, too!! I applaude their efforts, and hope they continue to make music to fill my life, and the rest of the worlds!

A fabulous album that's finally getting national attention!,

You may have heard their songs on shows like Party of Five and Jack & Jill lately -- or heard the hauntingly stunning song Cathedrals on alt-rock or pop radio. Make no mistake: This is a great album, a genre-hopping, kaleidoscopic journey through the sounds of modern rock. I certainly hope enough people find out about this album for it to really take off and spawn more great CD's.

This is not your father's JLC,

Actually having been a JLC fan for a couple of years, many thoughts came into mine when I listened for the first time. Would this be the Jump that we have loved for so many years? Absolutely not..and that's a good thing. Jump has been able to maintain their eclectic edge and produce an album that represents each member of the band. For Jay, his beautiful vocals shine on "Close Your Eyes" and "Cathedrals". Matt seems to capture the hearts of the ladies with "Habit" and "Body Parts". Jonathan's rockin bass lines throughout the album keep you pumped, while his harmonies in "Come Out Clean" keep you mystfied. Thus giving Johnny a bit of the spotlight. Ward "the V" Williams not only contributed to the harder edge of the CD, but is the heart of the strings with his strong cello melodies. And we musn't forget the amazing Evan...the man who is only in his fourth year playing trap...the mind behind B-13's lyrics. Each member seem to be so well represented. This band has musical influences that stretch from the green hills of Lockshire Sound Ireland to AC-DC. Also be sure to check out their two indie cd's "the licorice tea demos" and "buzz". Well, enjoy your CD...you won't go wrong with this purchase.

A+ Jump Little Children has done it again,

After following this band since the release of Licorice Tea Demos, I was over joyed to hear they had a new album out. This album is wonderful. It goes from pop (Magazine) to a sweet soulful ballad (Cathedrals) to spoken word. It's great for those who find the bubble-gum pop of MTV boring and stupid. By far one of the best CD'c I've ever listened to.
