I bought these to hold an aluminum gas door closed on my truck after the original spring broke. They show a picture of the magnets holding together through a penny so I figured I'd give them a try after using hook and loop first and having it fail due to exposure to the elements. I got the tiny 1/4 inch ones and used epoxy to clue them on the door. They worked so perfectly and I found so many other uses for them I actually ordered two different sizes to add to my collection. They are so strong that even the tiniest ones will hold through multiple sheets of paper on your fridge, I've glued them to bottle openers and also to my BBQ tools to stick right on the side of my grille. I love these things and can't believe I never discovered them before.

Here's what you do: get 30 plastic push-pins like folks use on cork-boards.Light a candle, and hold the tip of a pin over the flame for 5 seconds (be careful, etc.), then pull the heated metal pin out of the plastic with pliers. With a few strokes across a file, make sure the bottom of the plastic (where the pin used to be) is flat. Lay out your 30 magnets, keeping a generous distance between them as they will "jump" at each other and mess up your work. Mix up some 5-minute epoxy and put a very small amount on the plastic, then squish it down onto a magnet. Repeat until you have an armada of thumbtack magnets. Once the glue is set, carefully carry the magnets to your fridge and try them out. The magnets really like to be in a stack with one another, and may destroy the plastic you've just glued on if several are loose together. This won't be an issue once they are stuck to your fridge door. These magnets are exactly the right size for this application, and the thumbtack handle makes them very easy to place and remove.

We were constantly having problems keeping all the coupons, invitations, photos, and school projects on the fridge with the cutesy, funny or freebie magnets in our arsenal. We got these to make things stay put.And they do. These magnets are small, but they are very, very strong. Only trouble is trying to get one separated from the rest! Now all of our refrigerator art is securely fastened to the door.

I purchased these magnets with the intent to use them for attaching photos and papers to a steel filing cabinet. My goal was to find something small enough to not obscure the photos, but strong enough to hold them steady in a well-used, fast-paced environment. These buggers certainly do the trick. To give a reasonable idea of the magnets' strength, a single magnet will comfortably hold ten sheets of paper without sliding. I think, regardless of size, users will find it difficult to remove the magnets (when applied directly to a surface) without sliding them to an edge or using a small wedge, such as (strong) fingernails, a file, etc. The magnets' appearance is as attractive as their disposition. They are moderately durable; I dropped several on my concrete floor from about 4 feet up and they weathered the event without any chips. When I need more, these will certainly be the first in my shopping cart.

These are great. I purchased them to use to align my table saw. But man have I found uses for them: on the lids of my boxes (almost have to pry them open), hold tools on board (made a rack using the magnets imbedded in wood to hold wrenchs, rulers and screwdrivers. Going to buy the larger size next.Good Product.

I sunk these two deep, held into place with epoxy before I applied 2-ply wood veneer to my speaker baffles. Once everything was done and I created the grills, I placed 1 magnet 'over' each of the others and glued them directly to the grill. The grill is VERY difficult to move and it centers back into place... yet when we have listening sessions I can remove them with no ugly holes. A great, very strong product.

Our office has new furniture which is mostly steel w/o the push pin backing, so needed some magnets to hold up items. These work great. These are great for more permanent items that you keep up like pics, etc. to be less obtrusive. Also got the next size up (14 count) for heavier/thicker/more items. Also, larger ones are a bit easier to get a hold of when taking down/putting up than these small ones.

These magnets are fantastic; they must be the kind used in commercials where a car is suspended in mid-air. I got them to demonstrate the smallest engine using a battery, a screw and a piece of electrical wire, where the battery is attached to the flat head of a screw or nail; then the point of the screw is attached to the negative end of a battery; then a piece of electrical wire is held to the top (positive) end of the battery and when the other end of the wire touches the screw, it spins. Other magnets I've tried were not strong enough, but these are amazing. They're also well packaged.

These little magnets are so powerful it's easy to go too big and thus get less bang for your buck. I find this size (3/8" round by 1/8" thick) is s solid all around size and cost effective. Overall, I love this type of magnet, versatile, clean and easy to work with.

These magnets are the size of small watch batteries and came in a 30-count as described. The neodymium magnets are pretty strong for their size, making them a fun toy to play with. However, buyers beware: the coating on these magnets started chipping within an hour of use. It seems whenever these magnets stick to each other, the collision is so powerful that it causes the magnets to chip. Wrapping these up in several layers of plastic wrap will fix the problem if you intend to use these magnets extensively. |
