These are very powerful little magnets. They are not for small children. They are great for organizing the kid's artwork and such on your fridge. Just a couple of them are enough to hold our large calender to the fridge. When transporting my kitchen knife to a picnic or BBQ, I make a sheath by rolling up the knife in several layers of paper from a brown paper bag and then use a couple of these magnets to secure it. The paper doesn't unroll or slip off the knife. I put one magnet in the tip of the driver bit for my drill/driver, now I can dip the tip into a box of screws and pull out six or seven at a time. I bought some larger magnets also, they are insanely powerful! I use one to help keep my screw and nail containers organized. No more poked fingers trying to get sheetrock screws out from the bottom of my bag. A fun and useful product.

5.0 out of 5 stars These are tiny, freakin' strong magnets., April 14, 2010

I got these for an art project. The plan is to make "bones" out of air dry or oven bake clay, embed the magnets in the ends, and stick them together later to impress my paleontology teacher. I didn't actually do this project (yet,) but these magnets are crazy.

Just for laughs I wore a few around as magnetic earrings, and they start to seriously hurt after an hour or two. And my ears still hurt for a few days after. If you're looking for magnetic earring parts, get smaller magnets. These ones are too big and strong!

I read that they can sometimes break when you're playing around with them, but I've done plenty of playing and none have chipped so far. They're kinda hard to get apart if your fingernails are really short.

PS: they're about half the size of the eraser on a new pencil. Like, if you lopped off the top half of the eraser, that's about the size. But don't underestimate the power of the magnetic side!

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect magnets, December 20, 2009
This review is from: Magcraft NSN0579 1/4-Inch by 1/8-Inch Rare Earth Disc Magnets, 40-Count (Tools & Home Improvement)
I was looking for simple-looking magnets that were small but strong, for holding up holiday photo cards, kids art, etc on the fridge and these couldn't be more perfect for that job. They are just small enough to be hardly noticeable when holding something up while still being big enough for me to be able to manipulate them without too much difficulty. These little suckers are STRONG though--it can be tough getting two of them apart, so it's useful to have some good fingernails. I keep these lined up along the very top of my fridge door when not in use so my kids can't get ahold of them.
