Rare earth magnets are the strongest type of permanent magnet currently made. They are amazingly powerful for their size and have innumerable uses. These block magnets are 1.000-Inch (25.4-mm) long, 0.250-Inch (6.4-mm) wide and 0.100-Inch (2.5-mm) thick. They are magnetized through the thickness. They are composed of grade 40 neodymium iron boron magnetic material and are plated in nickel-copper-nickel for a shiny corrosion resistant finish. Their individual pull force is approximately 5-Pound. Maximum working temperature is 176-Degree Fahrenheit (80-Degree Celsius). Magnets may chip and crack if allowed to snap together.

The outer packaging these came in was pretty poor, but i already reviewed that separately, and it did not affect the product at all as the inner container DID hold them very secure - it was only surprising.

These magnets are EXTREMELY strong. They are so strong, in fact, you will have difficulty pulling them apart from each other the first time you open them as they come in a block (like in the picture). Although the dimensions are clearly and accurately described in the product description, it still might shock you at how small they are when you hold the real life magnet in your hand, but they still work exceedingly well for my purposes and therefore receive 5 stars!

Defiantly worked as expected other than lack of knowledge on my part for how much strength I needed for the project I was doing. I made a magnetic knife holder out of dark walnut for my wife's new kitchen knife. I needed a little more pull do to the magnets being behind a layer of wood. I simply made the layer thinner, it still needed to be slightly stronger. I have also made about eight various shaped wooden magnets for my wife decor for the refrigerator and bread box and they are the strongest magnets for holding beyond what we put up on the fridge (and just about everything the kids can put up). The magnets work wonderfully and I only broke a couple do to the playing with them and accidentally letting them slap together to many times. I will be ordering more in the future as I need them. I feel this is an excellent product.

The magnitism in these things is so stong I can hardly pry them apart. I am very happy with them. I may order more of them.
