The outer packaging these came in was pretty poor, but i already reviewed that separately, and it did not affect the product at all as the inner container DID hold them very secure - it was only surprising.

These magnets are EXTREMELY strong. They are so strong, in fact, you will have difficulty pulling them apart from each other the first time you open them as they come in a block (like in the picture). Although the dimensions are clearly and accurately described in the product description, it still might shock you at how small they are when you hold the real life magnet in your hand, but they still work exceedingly well for my purposes and therefore receive 5 stars!

Defiantly worked as expected other than lack of knowledge on my part for how much strength I needed for the project I was doing. I made a magnetic knife holder out of dark walnut for my wife's new kitchen knife. I needed a little more pull do to the magnets being behind a layer of wood. I simply made the layer thinner, it still needed to be slightly stronger. I have also made about eight various shaped wooden magnets for my wife decor for the refrigerator and bread box and they are the strongest magnets for holding beyond what we put up on the fridge (and just about everything the kids can put up). The magnets work wonderfully and I only broke a couple do to the playing with them and accidentally letting them slap together to many times. I will be ordering more in the future as I need them. I feel this is an excellent product.

The magnitism in these things is so stong I can hardly pry them apart. I am very happy with them. I may order more of them.

These are a very strong magnet, which is great for many things. For everyday use it might be a little much, I used these in the garage for more industrial application where I mounted them.

These are tiny, but super powerful.

I tried to order more just now but don't see anymore in stock. Hope this company didn't go out of business.

My mailbox was hit by a snow plow truck and after it was bent back the door never closed properly. I tried a variety of double-sided magnetic tape and other remedies. A couple of these magnets (one would have been enough!) on either side of the door, and it closes and stays closed perfectly. Just the right amount of tension to open it as well. I couldn't be happier with my choice.

I have never encountered magnets like these....pulling them apart from the brick they arrive in was like a game! I suggest dry hands, using a t-shirt or some cloth to pull them apart and put them into a shape that makes them easier to pull apart when you need them. I used them with some epoxy to get my glovebox closed after the latch broke, I don't know if the epoxy will handle its job, but I know for sure the magnets will. WOW! Just beware about where you set them down, keep them away from technology, and beware any metal surface!!!!

They work, and they're strong, real strong. I may buy more for other projects.

If I was starting over, I'd get the biggest magnet possible. These work just fine. No complaints. My cheap nature told me to get these little ones because I could get more for less money, but reality suggests that if you try to retrieve a 1/2 pound steel object dropped through a floor board (the reason I ordered these) a bigger magnet would have been a whole lot easier to use. They just barely held on to my oversized Forstner bit, but eventually it came out. On the other hand, we now have the best refrigerator magnets in the neighborhood and I would never think of living without them!

Update: April 4, 2010:
They turned out to be just PERFECT!!! Upgraded the rating to 5 stars. Once attached to any larger object, you will get enough leverage to easily pull the object with magnet from any surface. So I've to agree with the review by JP Feast. As for the packaging, it was weard, but it looked cool. Also it mentions on the label, to keep the magnets in original package for air travel.

Be aware! These babies are ridiculous strong!!!! They are very hard to pull apart. They are also very hard to pull from any surface. I have to slide them on the surface to get to the edge of the surface to be able to get some leverage to pull it off. They might just be too strong for what I need. That's the only reason why I'm rating 4 stars instead of 5.

I love magnets and I decided to buy these because they are really strong. They came in a neat box was very well presented. I took quite some work to pull them apart and I was satisfied with this incredible force. When I slowly began to push half of the magnets in the direction of the other, and they collided rapidly with a great power but 4 out of 12 magnets broke in half because they are really thin. When they break they become more dangerous because of the sharp edges and you have to be careful when playing with them. But it's still great. And more broke later too. I would recommend thicker magnets but not too thick otherwise it will be too strong to play and you won't be able to pull them apart. And always be careful while playing with neodymium magnets, especially if your finger is in between.
