Book Description

Magelore August 1, 2000
Elven mage Arien Mirida was living what should have been the perfect life. Lord High Librarian of Thanis, sharing a home with the lovely Alinora, friend and student of the Archmage Talus Yor, the curse that had plagued his family finally broken ... yes, all should have been well.

Yet a shadow lingers over Arien's heart, a shadow in the shape of a young thief and the memory of a love impossible to forget. When adventure calls and brings with it the promise of a reunion with Cat Sabledrake, Arien is quick to accept the dangerous quest.

In the mysterious southern reaches of the Emerin, the sinister elves known as the Morvalan are hard at work on a project that will destroy Thanis. The force behind the plot is Solarrin, a necromancer inhabiting the powerful body of a minotaur.

As he finds himself facing orcs, Morvalan wizards, and even the dread warrior-priest of a god most elves dare not name, Arien must confront something even more terrible -- the realization that Cat may be lost to him forever.

About the Author

Christine Morgan is a longtime roleplayer and fantasy gamer of the sandwich generation - she was introduced to the hobby by her mother, and has a budding gamemaster for a daughter. In honor of her gaming roots, she is delighted and honored to have wheedled introductions out of 'cool people in gaming' for each of her MageLore novels.

She graduated from northern California's Humboldt State University in 1990 with a degree in psychology, and currently works the overnight shift as a residential counselor in Seattle.

Her other interests include British comedy, thunderous classical music, and the Disney animated series Gargoyles.

Christine lives in Everett, WA, with her husband Tim, their daughter Rebecca, a couple of demanding cats, and two dwarf hamsters.

Archmage of the Universe is her third novel. Her work has also appeared in Pyramid magazine and GURPS Villains. She and her husband Tim are co-editors of Sabledrake Magazine, an online 'zine focusing on sci-fi/fantasy fiction, art, and roleplaying games.

In addition to continuing her fantasy series with the upcoming ElfLore trilogy, she is hard at work on the Trinity Bay books, a series of horror novels set in the Pacific Northwest. The first of these, Black Roses, is being produced as an audio book read by the author herself.

She enjoys hearing from readers, so feel free to contact her at christine@sabledrake.com
