Very disappointing - stopped working altogether
on August 30, 2013
I purchased this back up camera with the 5255T-LM GPS directly from Magellan in December, 2012. Installation was not too difficult in my 2013 Sonata (I had installed others before - plus Youtube videos helped)and the camera worked well for about 4-5 weeks. It then began to work intermittantly so I checked the connections and power supplies and all were good. I called Magellan for customer support and was told that I would have to have a professional installer check it out, at my expense, before I could request a replacement. Also, it was too late to return it, more than 30 days had passed. I asked what they were looking for, besides checking the power and connections, and was told I would get a call back. No one ever called back. Recently, I called again and requested a call back from a supervisor to again attempt to get a working unit, and was told again I would get a call back. Still no call backs. I am very disappointed in the back up camera for failing after a short time, but more disappointed in Magellan Customer Support. Because of the absolute lack of customer support, I would not purchase any Magellan products again.
