This cable and Cig adapter was advertised as an accessory for the Magellan Explorist 210, so I bought it. It does not fit the 210! No how, no way. DO NOT BUY IT FOR ANYTHING BUT WHAT IT SAYS, NO MATTER WHERE AMAZON SAYS IT FITS!!!

I ordered this with my Explorist 200. Amazon adervtised it as compatible...well...it isn't! I paid the higher rate for 2 Day Shipping and now I'm having to pay to ship the thing back!

The 1 Star isn't a rating for the quality of the cord, it's a rating for Amazon screwing up the info on this product. The cord looks nice but how would I know...IT DOESN'T FIT!

Since the dual cables for Magellan Meridian series (just came out) are not widely available, this one is a savior. I hooked it up to my Magellan Meridian GPS Gold and it works!
I no longer need to buy batteries by the truckload. (Promised 12-13 hours are really 5-6 hours of practical use).
Be ware of a couple of misleading reviews - this one is power only! The dual cable would have a serial connector showing.

This cable does exactly what it's supposed to do -- power your Magellan Meridian GPS.

The cable connector snaps onto the car suction cup holder as well as onto the swivel mount so once everything's in place in your car or boat all you have to do is pop in your GPS unit to get all contacts in place. Works great.

This item is a must for the Magellan 315 GPS. I mounted the unit on my dashboard with velcro strips and use the external cable to save on batteries, esp. while using the internal light.

This cord connects the GPS with the vehicle's power supply, and can connect to the laptop at the same time. Both functions work fine. It's possible to get a continuous reading of position, when using a laptop with a navigation program, such as Microsoft Streets and Trips. These are things you would be doing INSTEAD of watching where you're driving.

The only problem I can see is that there is a fair amount of dangling cord when the computer connection is not being used. I usually wrap it up with a twist-tie.

The Magellan MAP300X comes with a lighter, computer,GPS cord as part of the package. This cord has only the GPS and lighter connection making a lot less bulk in your car. Leave the cord that comes with the MAP300X on your desk unless you are traveling with your laptop. This also saves having to pack the mounting bracket to and from the house. A very logical investment.

I bought a Magellan Explorist 210 and you sent me the power cable for a Magellan 300, 315 or 320. It will not fit on my Explorist 210. I am in South America and will return to the US in about a week and will return the product to get the correct external power cable. You would think that somebody at Amazon.com would have noticed that the power cable did not match the GPS!

Love it. If you use your Mag in the car, you really need one of these. The amount you save on batteries will more than pay for the cost of this item in no time.

I can't understand why the connector consists of a screw-on bracket thing that never seems to tighten right. It just seems dumb. Why not a conventional plug that conveys the power in a straightforward and reliable manner? It works, but there is a big old resistor thing that is cumbersome. I guess if you need external power you really have NO other choice, Magellan designed it that way.
It works, but could have been done better.
