After breaking the power cord for my Magellan GPS, I looked around for a replacement. Magellan was ready to sell me a new one for $25. Same price for a generic one from an electronics store. Then I found another one here at Amazon for $12. And, finally, I came across this one for less than a dollar. The price disparity was so great that I was inclined to be suspicious of its quality, but for less than a dollar I was willing to risk it. It works just fine. As noted by another reviewer, the cord is just a little on the short side, but I have found it long enough to reach over the steering wheel from the cigarette lighter to the lower left corner of the windshield in my 2003 Toyota Rav-4. I've only needed to use it a single time since the purchase - but so far, so good.

Original car charger was destroyed. Tried numerous usb adapters and chargers, all would power the unit but would not charge the internal battery. This charger/adapter did the trick. Although it doesn't have the feel of quality as the original (cord isn't rubberized or as long as the original) it is definitely worth the price. A+

This device works like it is designed to, however the cord is the coiled type, and seems a little short. If you are needing to span a fairly long distance from the GPS unit to the cigarette lighter plug, then you may consider a non-coiled design.

I have a Jeep Cherokee, and the GPS is mounted on the front windshield. Not a great distance to the lighter socket, but it is a bit of a stretch with this coiled cable.

Otherwise this one works well, with a good solid connection on both ends, and an indicator (red) LED light tells you the plug is operating.

If my Roadmate 1200 is off, this charger will charge it. But if my GPS is turned on, with the charger plugged in, the GPS gives me a message that a usb cord is plugged in - and the GPS won't work. So I have a charger that will not charge a GPS when I need to use it I would not buy it again.

For the cost, it can't be beat. Works just as it should. Why spend $30 at a retailer for the same thing. The only drawback is it is a short cord, so I now just have the GPS in the center of the window instead of off to the side. no biggie.

This product didn't work for me, and it's not worth the $ or time to send it back. The problem is that it got very hot when it was plugged into my car. When I first plugged it in, it powered up my Magellan Roadmate 1412 just fine. Then within about 10 minutes or less the plug in handle got very hot the Roadmate shut off. I considered it a fire hazard. Later when I used a borrowed cable for a trip to see if the Roadmate was defective, the Roadmate worked just fine. Don't waste your time with this faulty device.

I bought this cord 2 weeks ago and it is already not working and i have to purchase another cord. I know i only paid $3 after shipping but you get what you pay for. Also the cord is very short and barely reaches from the connection to the left side of the windshield. Don't waste your time of money.

I was looking every where for this and got on Amazon to buy it. Pricing is great and I didn't have to buy a new navigation set

Charger was extremely inexpensive. So much so I could take a chance on junk. Purchased two just in case. Been using the first one for about a month with no issues. After reading some reviews and the fact that my OEM charger came apart at the USB plug end, I am probably being a little gentle when plugging / unplugging unit - but so far so good. Only gripe is the coiled cord won't reach from the lighter sockets to the windshield in my Odyssey. Barely to the top of the dash. Sockets are low - about 8 inches from the floor.
