The original cable that came with my Magellan Maestro 4250 had a short in it. Every time I backed out of my driveway or hit a bump the GPS would power on as if I had just plugged it in. I used a regular USB charger for a while and it didn't happen any more but I needed one of these cables to also handle the FM antenna for traffic alerts. I've had the new cable for a week or so and have not had any more problems so I'm hoping my first one was just defective and not an indication of poor quality in all of these cables.

I purchased the 4250 gps model from Costco. The car A/C plug came undone at the tip as i pull it out. Returned and got a replacement, same issue with the plug. The tip has a plastic round cap screw on that can easily come undone. So with a short time of usage, as you pull out, plug in into your car's A/C, the head piece gets loose and fall apart. Now, i find myself buying a replacement plug, of the same model, and expect the same fate. Please make the fix, Magellan.

works just fine. But It's going to have the same problem as my last one. and that is the cord will sepparate from the base after awhile. Design flaw or way to keep ya buying more?
The cord at the base of the lighter adapter needs to be reinforced.

I have a problem with this item already. As of this passed Saturday i was using this item and it stopped working. The metal piece that goes inside that makes it bounce when you plug it in doesn't work anymore. it doesn't make any sense that i just bought this and now i need to buy a new one.

I highly recommend this over other cheapo chargers available. Used it several times over a couple of weeks and seems to be working as expected.

This adapter works pretty well, but I had two main complaints about it. First, the power didn't have a "L" shaped connector like the Magellan origional meaning that it stood out from the GPS receiver. Second, it caused a bussing noise in the FM modulated playback that I didn't get with the old adapter. Overall, it did it's job, just not as good as the origional in my experience.

Exactly as ordered and needed. Works perfectly and looks to be made with high quality materials. The product arrived timely also.

My son had a Magellan portable navigation unit and had accidentally broken the power adapter. We did some research and found this item to be the correct replacement unit as it had the FM antenna built in to capture the traffic reports. The buying experience could not have been better. We really appreciate Amazon and have been a long time Prime member. The Amazon Prime program has saved us a large amount in shipping costs every year and we really like the added benefits of free movie streaming from the Amazon digital library. Thanks.

I purchased this charger as a replacement for my GPS -- so much cheaper than going to the manufacturer website. Works great.

Works GREAT on my Magellan 1440.

I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if needed.
