When "Maggie May" was released, I went out and bought all of Rod Stewart's prior albums, as well as those from The Faces with him as lead singer. Every artist has his or her peak production, whether it's a painting, a movie, or an album. This was Rod Stewart's peak, and "Maggie May" will be the all-time classic for which he'll be remembered. What a wonderful song. It evokes many memories for me.
