This review is from: Maggie's Mistake (Heartsong Presents #487) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book, and the two that follow by this author, are set in the 1800's in Wabash, IN, where one of my family members currently lives. That attracted my attention, but the story basically held my interest with feisty, independent Irish Maggie and strong, faithful Sheriff Simon. After Maggie's little sister Fiona wanders away, she is discovered at the farm of Simon's sister Leora, who cannot have children of her own, and desperately wants one. Leora decides Fiona is better off with her, and Maggie enters the fight of her life to get her back. Maggie finds it difficult to believe in a God who could love her, but events happen to bring that fact home to her in a fascinating way that even she can't miss.
