Growing up in a small town, Kellie Elmore learned of love and loss within her humble "backyard" surroundings. Weaving stories inspired by these emotions and the vast nature of the East Tennessee foothills has become her passion. You will feel the enchantment at the center of this collection of prose and poetry as you are completely taken in by the allure of Magic in the Backyard.
Kellie Elmore is an author and daily blogger at kellieelmore.com.
Kellie's debut collection of poetry and prose, Magic in the Backyard has been nominated for the (2013) esteemed Pushcart Prize in Literature, selected by Winter Goose Publishing Editor-in-Chief James Logan. 'Magic' was also featured in a recent edition of Southern Writers Magazine... and the reviews have all been consistent, agreeing that Magic in the Backyard is a 'must read'.
Jagged Little Pieces, the second collection by Elmore was released on March 20th 2013.
Elmore's poem titled "Keys" was selected and included in the Voice Your Verse project, a collected anthology titled "If the World Were Your Classroom" by shesthefirst.org, a cause which helps to fund girls education, and in mid 2012, Kellie took her place on the list of 'Famous Tennesseans' in the company of Justin Timberlake and Kenny Chesney. Additionally, Kellie's work has been published in newspapers, magazines and anthologies in both print and online.
