Diahann Carroll sings and interprets the hell out of these standards. Her voice is like honey and her jazz phrasing is impeccable. If you love Dinah Washington or Nancy Wilson, you will love Dianhann singing jazz.

I have been a fan of Miss Carroll's acting since "forever" yet, I am only a recent fan of her singing voice. It's amazing how clear, how enchanting, how perfect it is. Although I don't enjoy this CD quite as much as I do The Tribute to Ethel Waters CD, still it is wonderful. She certainly knows how to deliver a song. She gets you right there in the palm of her hand and doesn't let go til she's finished with you. Yes Mistress Carroll!!! I was a naughty fan but, not anymore :-)

I never knew Diahann Carroll could sing until I listened to her superb performance on this double CD. The recording of her intimate show at Persian Room proves Carroll is a totally engaging entertainer. Here she is young, fresh, and simply irresistible!
