The Magic Flute is a children's picturebook adaptation of the classic opera by Mozart. In this timeless fairy-tale, Prince Tamino must save Princess Pamina from her evil mother, the Queen of the Night; fortunately, he has a magic flute and the aid of his trusted friend Papageno. Deftly retold and brought to vibrant life with colorful illustrations, The Magic Flute is a wonderful children's introduction to the majesty of opera and especially recommended for children's public library collections.

Beautifully illustrated and well-written, this book is an excellent introduction to the opera "The Magic Flute." It is written like a fairy tale and will capture the interest of children. At the end of the book, the author includes a page of ideas for involving children in writing, performing, discussing the major themes, and creating artwork about the opera. Elementary students will enjoy this entertaining re-telling of the story of this opera.

This is a picture book for children and music students. The illustrations are beautiful and the story is told plainly. A very nice addition to a music classroom or for the collection of a young music student.

A most enchanting rendition of a timeless Mozart opera! The author/illustrator is obviously blessed with her own "magic flute." With the stroke of her paintbrush, she makes her characters dance and her scenes come alive. And, in her writing, she gets her characters to sing out a lively and entertaining story. The reader will yearn for more of Ms. Teis's magic!

This book brought the musical story to life in beautiful,colorful pictures. My son really enjoyed reading it after learning about Mozart and this story in music class.

Much to my surprise, my 18 month old son loves this book! While the story is for older children, my son enjoys looking at the beautiful and colorful illustrations!
