5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent, October 10, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Magic Fly (Audio CD)
For fan's of Jean Michel Jarre, Jean Jacque Perrey, Space Art, Tangerine Dream, Pete Barden, and others of such, I highly recommend Space "Magic Fly", and all of there other albums. This is early electronic music from France, from the same time Jean Michel Jarre came about. Well, Jarre came about in the late 60s, but if we're talking about Oxygene then 1976, a year before this album, Magic Fly.

Once again this is an excellent piece of work, very relaxing with some pretty original melodies that are very nice.

enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars This was my first CD ever bought., May 9, 2003

I bought this CD when there was need to test the stereosystem almost 10 years ago. I must say, music by Space is very inspiring, really in the mood of 70s vision of cosmos and interstellar trips. I rate it 4 stars though - Space sound get a bit dated as years pass, not the way it happens with Jarre's music.

4.0 out of 5 stars Simon Gregory, October 17, 2005
This review is from: Magic Fly (Audio CD)
This album is full of nostalgia if you like 70's synth music. The style is adventuous for the time and naturally slanted at the disco maket which was popular back then. Although many of these tracks may be less familiar to a U.K. buyer, apart from their major U.K. hit 'Magic Fly', for those in the rest of the world and more familiar with their other hits and U.K. buyers who want to hear what they missed out on at the time, this is a good collection to start with and appreciate this under-rated French band who were ahead of their time.

5.0 out of 5 stars They Came From Outer Space, It Was In Fact France!, May 19, 2010
This review is from: Magic Fly (Audio CD)
When the single Magic Fly arrived in the UK in 1977 it was a massive hit for me.
Synthesizer sounds of the European disco variety is one way to describe it.
The title track is truely fantastic, as are Fasten Seat Belt, Tango In Space, Ballard For Space Lovers and Flying Nightmare.
The vocal Carry On, Turn Me On is not much to my taste, however Velvet Rape is OK.
Space went on make Deliverence, also 1977, Just Blue from 1978 is included in the 7 bonus tracks and finally Deeper Zone from 1980.
All have their high moments, but perhaps the best are Magic Fly and Deliverence.

Of the 7 tracks in it Magic Fly and Fasten Seat Belts are two great songs, plus it contains at least 2 or 3 more good songs, depending on your personal taste of course.
