This review is from: Magic the Gathering MTG Odyssey Tournament Pack (Board Game)
The Odyssey expansion for Magic Cards finally came! This set introduces two brand new rules (mechanics) to the already very diverse world of Magic. The first of these two mechanics is Threshold. Threshold makes some cards bigger and better if seven or more cards are in your graveyard. The second mechanic, Flashback, lets some cards be played again after they go to the graveyard. Now opponents will think twice before sending one of your spells to the graveyard!!With those mechanics and Magic's numerous fantastical cards, this set has proven to be quite a successful one. There are a near infinite number of possibilities for you to explore with this amazing game. Odyssey's Tournament pack, like all others before it comes with 75 randomly inserted cards, 3 of which are rares, 11 uncommons, six basic lands of each type and the rest consists of common cards. Just think: you'll save a few bucks buying this; compared to a theme deck with two rares, this pack has ONE ADDITIONAL RARE FOR THE SAME PRICE!!! Including all the other cards and 6 lands of each type, I'd say this is a flooping good deal! (I'm not saying that Magic theme decks aren't worth it though, they are actually quite useful, in that they guarantee certain rares as well as display some cool strategies.) So, if I were you, I'd be purchasing this pack right now and not bothering to read the rest of my review. BUT BEFORE YOU STOP READING, can you please say that my review was helpful? Come on! Pretty, pretty please with sugar on top? (Cause ol' Gil really needs this one!)

I'm just your ordinary, everyday, average guy. When i was about 10 years old, my cousin bought a large box of strange cards when he was visiting my house. He pulled out these "Magic" cards and i thought he was gonna pull a rabbit out too. Instead of finding a rabbit, I found a fun-filled, extraordinarily customizable game. First of all, there are infinite ways of winning. Each individual match is unique. Players play with a deck of 40 cards or more, all vividly illustrated and each with its own unique ability set. There are five colors, Red, blue, black, white, and green. Each color has its own set of creatures and spells unique to its color. This game is truly excellent and a great alternative to video games. Hey, If you don't believe me, buy a deck for yourself and start playing!

This is a very advanced card game and is not for younger aged kids. The game has a high educational value, unlike Yu-Gi-Oh (which I also play), because it actually requires a lot of thinking and strategy. Not only that but it is half of the price of Yu-Gi-Oh (that doesn't mean go out and buy it because it is cheaper). The game has a low durability level because it is made up of individual cards that can be torn, ripped, scratched, etc.
