I play standard only and about 1/3ish of this deck cant be used in standard. Why do I still see it as a great purchase? It contains Inkmoth Nexus (a card that for the last few months has been going for $12-$18 each) and a green sun zenith (a card that has been going for $10-$12). These 2 cards alone make up the value of the entire deck. If you have any intentions of buying either of these cards individually just buy this deck instead. Depending on where you get your cards you might save a few bucks and youll get a bunch of other stuff to go along with it.

As for the deck itself, there had to be several changes to make it standard legal. I made a lot of changes but kept it mono green infect and it does alright. Not quite as good as current standard event decks but still pretty good in its own right. Swing a glistner elf, then pump him with a couple copies of mutagenic growth and youve half killed your opponent in 1 swing. Be sure to play pumps like that before the damage step but after blockers are chosen. Best bet would be to get another big pump (say Titanic growth?) and swing with 2 mutagenic growths and 1 titanic growth in hand. Swing 1 inkmoth and a glistener elf and its a 1 turn kill.

It has countless weaknesses in current standard though so again I advise you not to get this to play out of the box or use competitively after modifying. Pick it up for the cards, keep it for the unique playstyle, but I would play with something else.

This is a gift for my grandson. He is fond of computers, magic, anything technical or mechanical, and stories of magical worlds.
