4.0 out of 5 stars Informative and thurough. Loads of info in a good format!, June 2, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Magic: The Gathering Pocket Players Guide (Paperback)
This book has lots of infofmation on the game "Magic The Gathering" wich is a cool and addictive card game. This book teaches you about the game and how to build a deck from a point of veiw of a player. It gives lots of examples on how to do the things it is trying to explain. The ilustrations are very useful. I recomend this book to anyone who is wanting to learn the game, however keep in mind this game is full of rules that change the rules so dont take the info in this book as law just use it as a foundation for your rules. Happy gameing!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good for what it is., August 21, 2011

This book is handy for a quick reference guide and is rather convienent to have when playing. However, it was published in 1994 so one must understand that it would not have any rule changes updates or newer card packs after that. Very good for the price and what it is but dont expect more.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Interesting View of Magic's Early Years, December 1, 2010

Don't buy this book expecting it to contain up-to-date rules. This is the Internet Age and you can find rulings on Wizards of the Coast's website much faster and more accurately.

Do buy it for its short stories, anecdotes, and explanations of the game-universe by Magic creator Richard Garfield. I had it as a kid and was delighted to find it again. :)
