Book Description

A clan chief has a duty to wed and produce heirs, especially if he also carries within him the power to keep his people safe from the evil that seeks to triumph over them. But Bren Mac Coinnach has long refused to take just any wife. He secretly waits for the one woman that legend says will be his and his alone: his perfect other half, and each year of waiting grows longer and more difficult than the last.
When a woman is placed under his protection, he makes a vow not to touch her against her own will, and he soon realizes it won’t be an easy vow for him to keep, especially since her will seems made of iron. Bren hungers for her with a need stronger than he has ever felt before, but in a world filled with magic and the timeless, endless battle between good and evil, both his honor and her life are soon at stake.
Faith McAlpin had never thought she was much different from anyone else… but she is, and always has been. She would soon learn just how different, and the lessons come fast and furious, until she wonders if she will lose herself entirely, especially to the fiery passion and mesmerizing gaze of the Mac Coinnach Chief. Now the struggle has only begun…

5.0 out of 5 stars OH..MY..GOD.. July 14, 2013
By Trish
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This is one of the best books I've ever read, and I've read my fair share. Bren and Faith were simply marvelous. The whole book was.
And let me just tell the person who gave it 1 star that to say the sex scenes were not inspirational? You gotta be kidding or you really didn't read the same book I did. The sex in this book was plenty and it WAS inspirational. Some of the best sex I've ever seen written. So there!!! I've read books where sex is never even mention, no passion, no erection, NADA. And I do hate that. Then BAM there it is! This book mentioned it often and all in the right places.
I loved Drust, Eian, Dirc, Berta etc, etc. The whole bunch were great. Well, except for Mored. He was/is pretty evil. I'm off to read Drust's story now and hope I don't have to wait too long for Eian's.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good vs Evil August 29, 2012
By Tina
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I enjoyed the story and thought it was well written. I liked the idea of the hero waiting for his perfect match as told him by his own father. I liked the heroine. She was strong and her career prepared her for the trip back in time. There are a couple of sex scenes, but not overly graphic. I enjoyed many of the secondary characters and would not mind reading Durst's story. The only thing that bothered me was the information regarding her mother. That wasn't explored or explained to my satisfaction. But that is just a minor complaint. If you like time travel, good vs evil, soulmates, or just a nice romance, you will likely enjoy this book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Read August 21, 2013
By Joanne
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I really enjoyed this story, I appreciate strong heroes and heroines as they struggle through various situations and this book would have got five stars except for a pet hate of mine; not to give anything away but when Bren (hero) virtually rapes Faith (for a very good reason of course) he hurts her and bruises her! then he goes back to what he had to do, and Faith forgives him $#%$%, no matter how in love you are wouldn't you at least complain about his treatment of you, she is a more forgiving woman than I would be.

2.0 out of 5 stars okay February 15, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
It was okay, I hate the part that he rape her and she just was okay about it. Wow really not matter how much I love a guy I let him rape me and be okay about it and it was her first time.

I really liked the way the heroine time traveled and landed up in a world filled with magic.
I also really like it when authors think about writing stories that are different.
I would recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Had hoped... February 16, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After reading other reviews and the description, I really thought this would be a great book. It was all right, but I can't give it anything past that. The characters were good, but the story around them didn't do them justice. This could have been a really great read, but fell short in so many areas. For one, I didn't really feel the connection between them that I thought should be there once they came together. Also, their interaction was just...boring really. There was some action ('m being generous here) which if built upon could have really intensified the story. Has potential, but didn't reach expectations.

1.0 out of 5 stars whaaaat??? April 3, 2014

What's the plot??? Isn't one..

The characters are sketchily written at best. She's at first somewhat likable, from what little info there is. Then suddenly she has a while new personality. And for someone who's from the 21et century and plunged into ancient Scotland you hear no thoughts, nothing.. As if she's robotic and this sort of thing is everyday for her.

The worst part IMO is the Scotsman. He's sketchily written as well all you get to know make him seem bipolar well not even (and yes I know many who are and this is not said as negative it's said as describing who he's written to be character wise) and a super jealous psychopath who just this side of rapes the virgin-ly main character of the story. Which was just horrible and was hard to get through the book as that was. The guy is only shown as either super angry and jealous to the point of murder or only a little less angry although he's described by second characters call kind although there is no kindness whatsoever. NONE. And no courting or sweetness. Just anger jealousy and murderous rage. When suddenly the girl is "in love" although neither know ONE thing about the other.. And so in love she immediately forgives the almost rape she happily marries him and who at the first of the book was a woman from the 21st century and took to no man bossing her.. Her new husband is still having fits of rage and jealousy even though no other men are around. At the point in the book a day after they're married he is saying he's going to tattoo her to show Allen she Belongs to him and no other men can touch her I had to put the book down. It's just too much. It's now even a sweet sort of jealousy, protective like. It's all disturbing. Now mind you he's meant to be the romantic hero not the villain.

This book was very good. Aside from a few spelling errors it was very good. I felt the pain of their loss and the joy of their love and I really want to read the next story.
