...magic knight rayearth,
By "lilwashu" (Reseda, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Magic Knight Rayearth #4 (Paperback)
I am a big fan of the japanese comics(manga)...and of all the books i have read none have ever touched me so deeply as this book has done. I give the whole series 5 stars. The story in the 3rd book, did a 180 on me. The opposite of what i was expecting happened, which i found very appealing. I love the very detailed drawings,...which really show the characters emotions. A combination of the story line and drawings, is what really got me. I have never cried before when reading a book let alone a comic. I can honestly say that magic knight rayearth has become my new favorite manga. I strongly suggest you read this. It also has humor in it which I find most appealing. I know as you read this you're probably thinking yeah i've heard it all before...so i don't want to ramble on. Please,...read these books they're soooo good. I am making all my friends read it. Fortunately, i won't have to force them...because I know they will love reading it. DEFINETELY WORTH YOUR TIME! ...I love CLAMP!

EEEK what happened??,

Geez this manga was really good for the first three books. I read them awhile ago but after being distracted by about a hundred other titles I just recentlty returned to it. I really did enjoy the other volumes but I don't really like this book of the series. Volume four continues where three left off, their mission completed and now the world's left without a ruler in chaos. What happened to all the light hearted humour? This volume was seriously depressing. There are lots of other manga and anime I can turn to if I want a sad meaningful story but it just didn't seem to fit with this series. Augh why did they have to start turning the series into a freakin' drama. Everyone mopes around and acually APOLOGIZES for acting goofy and rude (but, I mean they were just messing around and having fun) in the first three books. I dunno I may or may not continue this series out of curiosity of how it will end.

Great "Second Season" of Rayearth manga!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Magic Knight Rayearth #4 (Paperback)
The first three books of Rayearth were very good in their story arc, but a bit predictable. This 4th book kicks off another arc of story - and what a great arc it is! This second part delves much more into the three girls' psyches, especially Hikaru's. Not only that, but we're introduced to several great new characters that seem to appear fully fleshed-out and ready for action. The way two of the male characters react to each other and Hikaru is especially interesting - they can see her potential.I definitely recommend books 4 - 6, especially if you were disappointed with the sad ending of book 3. This new arc, I have to tell you, does end on a happy note. Quite an INTERESTING note, too, I might add. There are lots of twists and turns, plus some hints of romance, so if you're looking for adventure, slight romance, and intelligent story, you've come to the right manga book. :) Oh yeah, and you get to see Mokona again. What more could you ask for?

Strikingly beautiful art, wonderful manga!,
By "nekomi-chan" (Cephiro, where your will rules over all...) - See all my reviews

Magic Knight Rayearth (along with Card Captor Sakura), is, in my opinion, one of the best anime/manga series out there. CLAMP's art is amazing! The only downside to this Mixx manga (and the rest they have translated) is that it has been changed into American reading format (left to right instead of right to left), which has caused the art to be reversed. Also, I noticed a few grammar/spelling errors (it's "Windam", not "Windom" ...), but they aren't really a big deal. It's the only way to go if you want to read a Magic Knight Rayearth manga (unless you get lucky and find a bilingual one... if there are any out there... or, if you can get someone to translate the Japanese one for you, which is probably the best way to go.) Still, Mixx's manga will give you a good dose of what MKR holds; Magic, romance, and the strength of your willpower.

MKR #4 is WONDERFUL! I couldn't put it down! All the possible love intrests! *love is in the air, every where I look around..* Cephiro is dying as the girls are sent back to the world as people from other worls journey to become the new pillor of Cephiro. Will the girls let them come through? And who is this new man who saved them and why does everyone in Cephiro hate him? What secret is Ferio hidding and what about Ascot?! If you have read the first three in the series you need to get yourself this book. Don't let yourself think MKR ended so suddenly and sadly like that. ~.^

Rayearth 2,
This review is from: Magic Knight Rayearth #4 (Paperback)
When I finshed the first series I was a little dissapointed on the ending. I just knew the series didn't end there. And yeah! CLAMP made rayearth 2! Now the good about rayearth 2 and the bad about rayearth 2.
GOOD: 1. The art! Mokona has some talent! 2. Mokona! Some thing "special" happens to him! 3. The new charaters, I like them a lot! There names are: Asuka Primira Lantis Tarta Tarta (Tarta and Tarta are twins) San-yun Chang-yun (I think that's how you spell it) Zazu Eagle Geo 4 The setting. Besides Earth and Cephiro it takes place at: Chizta Atuzam Farhen 5 Less violent when I read the first series I kept on thinking " This is ment for a ten year old?!". Rayearth 2 still is pretty violent, but not as bad as the first book. BAD: 1 The story line completly changes instead of it being about Princess Emraude needing to be rescuded it becomes more about Hikaru,Umi and Fuu needing to defend Cephiro from destroction. 2. Rayearth becomes a drama practiclly! I mean in the first series has it's cute moments but then all a sudden it becomes some type of drama! 3. Ascot turns into an adult just to impress Umi It's funny but, I like Ascot better as a cute little kid. 4. The ending kind'a dumb I think CLAMP could of done a better job at making the ending. 5. Well the action is less intence I mean when you read the first series your practiclly are out of your seat think " OMG what's going to happen!?" and in the second series it's more like "Oh......the are fighting.". OVERALL: If you love(or like) rayearth buy this book you will love it ,just not as much as the first books.

Most of the book is a review of the first story arc...,

After the incredible end of the first story arc, we come back to the world of Cephiro. But since this is the start of a new story arc, almost all of the book is taken up with synopsis of the first three books. For those of us that have read those books and know the story, that is boring. But, we do meet some new characters and join up with some old friends. And this story promises to be just as astonishing as the last arc was.

Magic Knight Rayearth is a great manga series. If you like the anime, then you'll love the manga. There are some differences that I have seen from the two. I like the manga better, but others may not feel the same way. Manga #4 starts the beginnig of the second season of Magic Knight Rayearth, so order this manga and get ready to be taken back to Cephiro and witness a new challenge for Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu.

Magic Knight Rayearth: Good for the Mankind!,
This review is from: Magic Knight Rayearth #4 (Paperback)
Magic Knight Rayearth. The story starts with a GREAT title. This art, no this world is just perfect! The Artwork express the autor's feelings, the action and the sequencial-scenes are in perfect organization and in "exact-hour". You just can't put or retire ANY of the scenes. They're perfect, they're in perfect size and in perfect dose. The Characters, they are just outrageous (hehehe). To say the truth, I've never seen characters so cool, pretty, dark, "cowaii" and cute like these. Hikaru, Umi and Fuu are the "perfect girls" and the vilions aren't all bad (I'm saying that in the their manner), they have their own feelings and their quest aren't always "bad, kill and destroy". You will NEVER imagine the final, the middle or the begging. Sometimes, you'll like the Villions. Like Zagato in the first Rayearth-wave. CLAMP deserves an Oscar, no a Nobel Premium! Artwork: 5 Characters: 5 Action: 5 Scenes Sequence: 5 Translation: 2 (Poor Mixx, GET BETTER OR....) Overall: 5 I tell you, if you like some fantasy, or just some good history, no matter your preference, buy this, buy all 6 Rayearth Mangas! You'll be pleased. -zeo
