Magic Knight Rayearth is the best!,

This review is from: Magic Knight Rayearth #5 (Paperback)
Magic Knight Rayearth is one of the mangas I've ever read! The art is totally amazing! It's funny, cute, and (though I'm a girl) guys can read it, too! It's about three girls, Hikaru, Umi, and Fuu. They are suddenly sucked from earth and land in a strange world called, Cephiro. Then they are told to become Magic Knights and save Cephiro. (I'm very, very, bad at summarizing. Sorry!) That's all I'm going to tell you! Believe me, this series is one of the best I've ever read!

Magic Knight Rayearth is probably one of CLAMP's best books. It's funny, has a wonderful plot, and the pictures are truly beautiful. The book is a perfect example of a manga (comic book) for girls, but guys and anyone of any age will enjoy the manga. Anyone who wants to read a good manga book or series Magic Knight Rayearth would be the best one to read.

The Best Instalment in the series yet!,
This review is from: Magic Knight Rayearth #5 (Paperback)
The fifth book! Yay! This series was supposed to end after the third manga, but we Rayearth fans are very glad it didn't, aren't we? THe plot thickens even more as Umi, Hikaru and Fuu are called back to Cephiro by an unknown person who they must find and find out who the next Pillar of Cephiro will be. Meanwhile, we find out about the story behind Princess Emeraude's reasons for summoning the Magic Knights and about Lantis, the mysterious brother of Zagato. I couldn't put this book down and I can't wait to read the sixth book! I only hope that Clamp decides to extend the serie after that!

This review is from: Magic Knight Rayearth #5 (Paperback)
In this 5th volume of Rayearth, the plot is going over a lot of what happened before the story took place. It goes a lot into the past of what happened before volume one. It gets boring because of all the long and in depth conversations, but it does get you a feel of the characters. It does the usuall comedy and cuteness like the rest as the Rayearth, and the art never slowing down. The plot now seems to envolve around Hikaru rather then all three of them. Umi and Fuu really don't have much of a playing part. You also get better introduced into the three invading countries. The story is must have witht he rest of the Rayearth series. But the lack of action, and the long conversations, and flashs backs keeps the book moving fast, and it may lower your interest level. Whatever you decide, is up to you.

Nice artwork, but annoying characters,

Clamp does beautiful artwork in this series as well as X/1999. In fact, the artwork was what persuaded me to buy this manga without having read the storyline. Bad move! It's not that the story is bad... it's just that the main characters are extremely formulaic and lacking in depth. The fact that one of them was a crybaby didn't help. If you're looking for a story that is going to draw you in and intrigue you until the last page, then this isn't right for you. You're better off checking out Inu Yasha or Sanctuary.
