Whenever I purchase a dslr, I immediately order a Magic Lantern guide. I belong to a photography group and they recommended this guide to me when I joined the group. Not only do these guides offer very detailed instructions and pictures but it also offers exercises to practice with your camera at the end of the chapter.
I recommend this series for your camera.

This book was recommended by my photography teacher at the local technical college. I had to buy a used copy to get one, but he highly recommended it. Maybe he set my expectations too high, but I wasn't impressed. The book has some good pictures, but is not organized in a user/dummy friendly manner. It took me longer to find something in the book than just clicking through the settings on the camera. I love my camera, but there has been a learning curve for me. Unfortunately I didn't find this book to be the answer to catching me up.

purchased this right after i purchased my new camera. it has been valuable as i learn to use my camera to the best. easy to use. handy. sturdy. it stays in the camera bag at all times and goes with me no matter where i go. it is always within reach to check as needed. would definitely recommend any of the magic lantern guides to others for their cameras.

Would have thought that the book would be more of a user guide for the camera. Not too bad as far as it went, but author seviated off to other things.
For instance. Another book details HDR photograogpy with automatic bracketing, and this subject is not even mentioned in this book.
Between the two books, I would have prefered to know more about this subject.
