Product Description

All that is needed is the special acetate overlay (provided in the book) to bring the images to life Moving images first appeared in the 19th century as simple optical devices such as the Thaumatrope and the Zoetrope. The process of displaying sequences of still images in rapid succession - to show apparent motion - is the basis of early film animation and motion pictures.

Not at all what I expected. Would NOT have purchase had I realized it was 3 inches by 4!
You also have to cut out the 'film' from the first page and then hold over the pages to follow. Too much $.
I am stuck with two...maybe a stocking stuffer.

If you're one of those who loves the zoetrope at the local museum, this book makes you feel like you took a piece of it home with you! My whole family enjoyed it. I think it will make a great birthday present for some of our young friends.

This book's quite amusing :) I had a day of fun with it (including showing it to friends). But since then, it has been staying on my shelf untouched.
