Editorial Reviews

Review

...this book, The Magic of Oz was very entertaining. You are drawn into the incredable life of Dorothy as her adventure in Oz continues. The imagination of the author astounds me!! It may be a rather dull book for an adult, but I had no problem by not putting it down. And of course, my daughter just loved it too!  Buy it for a child and they will be thankful. Don't expect anything too well written or clever but expect a very creative plot and a highly humorous adventure.

This review is from: The Magic of Oz (Paperback)
The Magic of Oz is the thirteenth book in the Oz series by L. Frank Baum. It is a bit darker than those I've read, but oh so exciting! And I love it!

Trouble never seems to leave Oz for good. The young Kiki Aru learned by saying the magical word "pyrzqxgle," that he could transform himself and anyone else into whatever he wants. And the evil Nome King recruits Kiki Aru to wreck his personal havoc on Princess Ozma and her friends.

Dorothy, the Wizard, the Cowardly Lion and the Hungry Tiger search for a special gift for Ozma's birthday. In the forest, they come face to face with the wicked Nome King's plans. It is up to Dorothy to stop the evil. Will she be able to complete her important task?

Armchair Interviews says: For a magical summer, or any time of the year, read The Magic of Oz and the other thirteen books in the Oz series. Children will be transported to the magic of make-believe.
