In my opinion this is the best book on Joseph Clement Cole in terms of paperstock and reproductions; there is a wider variety of drawings than the recent (2007?) hardcover on him and I feel the layout of the illustrations is also superior in this volume. I'm surprised at the high prices for this book. If you like this, also check out Franklin Booth, Painter With a Pen by John Fleskes.
