For several years I have been scanning multiple websites, in search of a book featuring anything on the French perfumery, Caron. I finally purchased, "The Magic of Perfume: The Perfumes of Caron" through Amazon, thinking I had secured a lovely book, which outlined the company's evolution of scent and `une passionate historie'. What a misleading title! Instead, I was bitterly disappointed to receive an expensive, overblown auction catalogue, published in 2001.Moreover, you are not warned about the book's contents by the company - in fact, there is no review at all. If you look carefully at the small photo, you'll see featured at the bottom of the cover jacket, "Perfume Bottle Auction XI". And make sure you have your microscopic lenses handy to view the small print. Take my word for it --- la magie du parfum is clearly missing. Even for a catalogue.
