4.0 out of 5 stars A great source for beginners, December 21, 1999
This review is from: The Magic Power of Witchcraft (Paperback)
I read this book for the first time when I was 13, almost 10 years ago. It really helped me in the beginning of my journey as an ocultist. Today, I am not friendly with the WICCA philosophy, but I have to make an exception on this book. It is a deep but steady school of magic (white magic), and it is also a great book for someone seriously interested in the matter, because it is like a manual, and the book itself is an encyclopedia in terms of the quantity of information on magic and rituals.

I still love it today!

5.0 out of 5 stars The best beginners book out there for witches!, April 5, 2007
This review is from: The Magic Power of Witchcraft (Paperback)
I purchased this book when I first began exploring the craft over 36 years ago, and have never doubted anything in it. It has realistic advice that I suggest every witch or pagan have in the library. I have read negative reviews about these folks and fail to see what their problems are. Are they envious? Do they fear the truth? Have they actually read the book from cover to cover and understood it? I plan on letting my grandchildren use this book for their first text when they begin in the craft. Not many authors can say that! I recommend this for all who wish to really learn something!

4.0 out of 5 stars The Real Craft Without New Age Babble, January 9, 2000
By
Saxon (Sandpoint, Idaho) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Magic Power of Witchcraft (Paperback)
This book is the one that began my lifelong study of magick and my native Northern European religious and cultual heritage. I first read it 25 years ago and still re-read it from time to time to return myself to the essential attitude of a Witch. This book is worded in a bit of a corny fashion, but that was the style of the time for almost all books on occult subjects. It is simple and straight forward real Witchcraft, untainted with the New Age garbage that permeates most books on the Craft these days. Witchcraft was, and is, to the very few who actually practace it in its historic context, a CRAFT, not a religion. This book is the perfect first book on the Craft in a halfway proper context. The Frosts are true Masters of the traditions, as well as several non-European magickal practaces; they know their stuff. If you are tired of Light Weenie wannabe Witches who practace Hinduism with a pointed hat, this is a good start. I would reccomend this book above 99% of all the other beginner's books out there, and above most of the books on the Craft period.
